Acually we know why, don't we? 😀 The economy of USA is at the early age of recession. IT companies are firing. Developers have to prove that it's important to keep them employed because there is always something calling for them to fix.
And the worst part when u cant sign in someone on the other team always for some reason can play and u cant even sign in and defend ur portals.. thats unfair even if its just a few minutes or more....
It is EXCEPTIONALLY bad today. Took more than 20 minutes standing at a portal trying to send 4 links! When tapping link, either NO potential links appear in the carousel, or only a handful < 1km (0.6 mile). After repeated force closures and making sure the keys are in inventory, and checking intel to make sure there were no blockers, the available link finally showed up in the carousel. 20 minutes to send 4 links. The game is simply not worth playing anymore.
I know I am a bit crabby about this, and I may come across like a know-it-all a$$hole, but this long-standing, game breaking issue evidence that Niantic don't know how to run a business. How fixing a long-standing, game breaking bug is not THE highest priority is inexplicable. How PVE, Rare Kinetic Caps and the numerous other 'nice to have' features were prioritised OVER a bug that renders the game useless is evidence enough that Niantic doesn't have any commercial sensibility whatsoever. I know that it may be incredibly difficult to fix, but you've had years to address this issue. You could have rebuilt the game from the ground up in this time, partly funded by subscriptions. I would expect to be fired if I prioritized development work the way it has been done here.
The lags been worse than ever in the last two weeks. Sometimes when glyphing it hangs so long I think it's lost connection then I miss the glyph coz it pops up like almost 20 seconds later.
Short lagouts globally as well. (Global telegram chats, everyone reports same outage at the same time, normally a 5 min length or so) with people unable to login or hung connections.
I was experiencing lag as recently as this morning. Stuck waiting for glyph sequence, stuck recharging etc. I'm doubtful that quantum caps were a cause of the lag we're experiencing.

And, servers been up and down this morning, cannot login. Most games at least have a "Servers will be going down in 10 min for maintenance" msg.
Yeah I am resistance team blue and I am level 5

There was quite a few people in Yokohama for the Anomaly. That might have had something to do with it
Just a few players in Japan during the Anomaly yesterday
Is there any update ?

The lag is crusty as **** right now. Locking up and losing portals.
Alerts are late, links aren't dropping and map takes forever to update
I wonder when the quantums will be retired if the lag will improve ?
I’m not expecting any miracles.
After all those years of enduring the latency, all the latest hopeful updates (lot of jargon, fixes, tentative fix) and it’s gotten worse. :>
It has been a number of days now since the Quantum Capsules have been removed from the game.
In addition to the 2.108 app update
Just wondering, what everyone's experience so far with lag?
I can't be certain, but Ingress does feel more responsive

yup dont noticed any difference so far
Same - zero difference since QC went.
So from this past week, I have come to the conclusion that the Ingress team need to switch back to a high compute server.
Does CORE Subscriptions enable this?
is that a serious question 🤔
Yes, does the current cashflow into Ingress with CORE Subscriptions, enable the possibility of high computer servers?
Okay i very doubt much that sadly without knowing the numbers.
@NianticBrian why is it that days after the Quantum Capsules went, Ingress was snappier, and my stats updated exactly when they were supposed to.
A week after that, Ingress is back to being laggy?
