If such big operation happens (with some 800km + link) try contacting a local vanguard (from your side since you wouldn’t want to spill the bean to RES agents) before your ops: there may be some way they can help in those situation if the anchor is spoof. (Again I cannot give guaranty that it would make your ops perfect but it better than having no help at all)
Yes for this location but this is hardly the first time an normally out of reach anchor was used/destroyed legally or illegaly by both RES or ENL agent in the greater montreal region nor will it be the last time.
Ahaha, I am Res, but I felt bad there op was ruined by spoofer.
I recaptured the north anchor legit with help from team.
Was beautiful trip.
Missread that part:
Our ENL had an op spoofed before they could finish with lines 800km+ long.
My bad :)
we can close this topic now i think we came across some good comments some not that good but its time to let it go… i hope this discussion made some people think about their gameplay and how to react next time … i know we can not do anything about it now but maybe our voices will be heard by niantic
Actually, the best fielders out there are able to place an anchor and field in a rival faction's territory because doing the said operation is no easy feat. Either one plays safe or one takes it up a notch, making it unique.
@Otrera35 It's true. I've thrown half a million MU off of an opponent's rabidly-defended couch portal. IIRC that one barely missed making a second checkpoint.
OTOH, if you have dozens of agents working on an op you owe them your best effort at finding a durable anchor. It sounds like perhaps the team that organized this was relatively inexperienced, and they wound up with a learning opportunity.
Lol we had trouble with our cross-Indian ocean BAF. Could not get portal high level enough in time.
A friendly enemy agent offered his couch portal and it stayed up for weeks! Wasn't much MU but looked impressive.
True, an examplar of fielding over rival faction's territory which was successful is the Orlando ENL female Smashing agents. They made a thread in the Sitreps tab about it.
@SSSputnik , it is good to always have a backup anchor and plan just in case Plan A does not work.
Yes. We had two, both were it seems too ambitious.
There's a difference between taking care of your business, and doing so at hours that if a civilian catches you, you run into undesirable problems.
