[Wayfarer] Friendly Reminder: Consent for Wayfarer Attribution Setting

edited October 2021 in General

Hi Agents,

For those of you who submit nominations and participate in Wayfarer, you or may not know that you’re able to turn on and off displaying your codename on features across Niantic products that are designed to display the contributor’s codename (examples: featured Wayspots).

As new features are added to Wayfarer, we want to remind (or inform!) you that if you have this feature enabled, your codename will continue to be displayed in features designed to do so - including new ones.

If you do not wish to have your codename displayed on your contributions, please make sure you toggle off this setting in your Wayfarer Settings page. You can do this by logging into Wayfarer and selecting Settings > Codename Display for Wayspot Submissions > and toggling the on/off switch to reflect your preference.

If you turn this off, your attribution will be removed from all nominations past and future across all games. Whether you have this setting enable or disable, you will still receive your in-game rewards associated with the result of your nominations.

I don't have any information on new features or schedules for Wayfarer - the Wayfarer team can help you with that - but knowing that we do a lot of submissions and edits and such, I wanted to be sure Agents remember this feature exists and have it set to their preference in preparation. You can find the thread related to this on the Wayfarer community here.

Note: even if you do not participate in reviewing nominations, if you've submitted a nomination or photo/Wayspot edit through your Scanner, you have a Wayfarer account and may wish to log into Wayfarer to check your setting.
