Idea: Very Rare Turrets and Force Amps, only obtainable from Kinetic Capsules

I've been talking with folks about this idea for quite some time but was too lazy to put up a post for discussion, until now.

I feel there's a need for something that is exclusive to Kinetic Capsules.

So basically, title, plus: they aren't hackable from portals (like VRLA). They're only obtainable by running a recipe in Kinetic Capsule, from Rare (usual) Turrets and Force Amps respectedly. They also wouldn't duplicate in Quantum Capsules (because Very Rare).

I didn't think of specific stats. Might be just higher coefficients as a lazy solution. But for a more complex solution, one of their features could be an ability to drain energy directly from a Hypercube XM bar. Because currently Hypercubes feel a bit OP (see a neighboring topic). I think the stats could be set quite high, because we're talking about mods which you only obtain by putting your effort into it (walking kcaps), not by lazy hacking, or by duplicating, or by buying them. So you wouldn't use them on random portals - you'd think first, if that mod slot is worth your 8km walk.

    As Kinetic Capsules “evolve” and we get single use ones and Adventure Sync, there does need to exclusive gear so that’s there’s more of a “point” to them, so I would be happy of something like this.

  • I like it too.

    Wide options to choose from kcapsules:

    • very rare items obtained with effort: X km, Y items, etc..
    • the transmuter option we are using in kc event to interchange ADA and JARVIS.
    • rare items we can obtain by now.
    • surprise item (random from a list) when you dont need anything.. that can include media (why not).

    at the same time, any option from that list can be purchased in the shop, so.. if you need or you dont want to get it walking you can purchase instead

  • I like the idea, since Turrets and Force amps do a set amount of damage, they are only really effective at repelling lower levelled agents, so something that is either scaled or does more damage to L15/16s could be good.

    I also like the idea of exclusive recipes to the KCap. It adds more to the feature than an alternative to getting kit from hacks.

    I think massive stickiness should be considered, ultrastrikes are pretty busted against mods and easy to get now with ito-, and the turret/force amp loses effectiveness as resos are lost.

    I'm talkin like 80%+ sticky

    Agree. I don't even notice shields if I have access to the center. 4-10 US and there are no shields anymore. So those should be more sticky than that.
