Requesting update on approved POI not appearing in Ingress

Hi
Just wondering if there is any news on this issue?
I am starting to refer to the time this has been going on for in months (1 and half) rather than days or weeks.
A week ago VK helpfully asked for examples to be posted in the bugs thread…..and there are a substantial number there.
Thia said 2 days ago that they would try to find out some basics.
Can we get some clarity please.
Is this a bug?
There seems to be a strong suspicion that it is linked to POI reviewed by Niantic staff ie not following a routine path through wayfarer.
How are investigations going ?
Are there plans to resolve it or should individuals keep posting?
Thanks in advance for anything you can post that helps people understand what is happening.

Definitely need an update. I can’t possibly see how this answer would take days to get…
I know mentioning this might not make me popular, but I think it's worth adding that this affecting all Niantic's games. On the Wayfarer forum we're just being told 'we don't care, it's a game issue not a Wayfarer one'. While Ingress players have this forum to ask for a fix, that other game with way more paying customers has no way to ask for anyone to look into this for them.

The update is this:
They made it so instead of getting an E-mail stating your portal was accepted, but too close to an existing portal to bring online (the old way)...
Now, they just say it was accepted, it looks like it was accepted in wayfarer, but it actually wasn't so you'll need to resubmit (the new way). Don't like it? Too bad, that's how pokemon players get it. Instead of making pokemon players get informative messages like we used to, they just made us get the same useless E-mail that doesn't help.
Not sure what doesn't make sense about that. This is the way. It doesn't have to make sense if Niantic does it, right?
Similarly, all games can purchase chocolate teapots.
That's not what's recently started happening, we're seeing portals that are very distant from other portals getting acceptance mails, but not appearing in any game. The rules on proximity for different games are widely known, but because Niantic refuse to confirm our deductions, we're unable to have functional conversations about this being a bug.
That's kinda where I am. A "bug" report has been submitted, but is this even a bug? Something changed and per usual, Niantic has zero ability to just communicate the changes (or apologize) so we can continue attempting to enjoy the game. Instead they create more dissent and bitterness and wonder why their already dwindling userbase plays even less.
We can dance around "bug reports" and "we'll let you know soon" kinda stories, but to me, same ole Niantic playing games with us.
I’ve tried to raise this a few times on the Wayfarer forum.
Having this forum is useful, and if I had the issue where I hadn’t heard from Support with Pokémon GO, I wouldn’t have had anywhere else to go.
I agree it’s needed.
Anyways, on this issue. I get the urgency but it’s only been 2 days since the last update. Sure, if we get to a week then maybe tag Thia in the relevant thread, but for now, it’s being worked on.
