Thanks, enjoyed Courier.

Got me to get out of town and go cap a bunch of uniques in places I never bother going through. A++ event, would play again. (The extra bonus for capping uniques was super helpful, and I used up all the APEX I was going to save for my third time on l16, but oh well!)

Well Done. I was pleased I was able to complete the event over the first 2 days. Due to current lock down laws I couldnt travel more than 5km from home for exercise. Thankfully there was 2 eager smurfs also within 5km ready to smash my fields for their gains. Thankfully I too was able to go straight back out and smash thier fields so I could redeploy again. Managed to find some uniques inside my 5km too. In total took me roughly 12hours.
So glad its done as the government has now tightened our lockdown to maximum 1hr exercise per day outside of home in the 5km area. This would have made it more difficult.
Good lord. Where do you live that you can't travel 5 kilometers from your house?
I just checked 5 kilometers from me just barely covers the university I was just playing at, but my work commute is more than double that.
Do they measure your 5 kilometers in a straight line or by Google street distance?
Sorry, I'm just blown away by this.
The closest hospital and Home Depot to me are just over 5 kilometers away. I couldn't even get to the expressway that I drive to work. That's nuts you can't go over 5 kilometers
probably NZ or australia.. they have strict rules now, bad timing for this event :/
Yep, also with a 5km limit, only 5 reasons to be outside (including only 2 hours of exercise allowed oer day) and a 9pm-5am curfew (source). Living in suburbia means there is barely any density in portals. Managed to get the badge, but didn't enjoy it.
Usually there are proper bonuses for such events, like double AP or resonator deploy bonus, this one had nothing except for uniqueing, which is the one thing that is prohibited in most of the world (exploring).
The event just seems like a cash grab to make people buy Apex's and Battle Beacons.
I also had a 5km limit and 1 hour exercise limit per day. Only have 70 portals with my 5 kms radius and used almost every single one of them.
I did a lot of set up and key farming over the week before, so was able to knock it over after 5 hours with battle beacons, APEX and almost 50 SBUL.
The unique portal bonus was useless to me personally.
I was not locked down, but I've been stagnant of late in Ingress - and this challenge revived me. I was happy to have a concrete goal and a medal to work towards, and I advanced two levels in the process! Add that to the extra steps I took while repeatedly microfielding (there's not a lot to blow up around here, so most of my AP was obtained through microfielding or recharging) and I'd call this event a personal success. I'm once again excited for my future Ingress gameplay.
haha i used a hp of a smurf to refield each time (45 fields attached to it) , no apex , battle beacon or virus needed 😂 and not wintrade (we're not best friends with each other 🙊) . for the rest i microfielded, and smashed some blue clusters. was fun to do as i did many aspects of ingress (attack , build , explored a bit also) ^^.
