Invite codes cannot be changed
While I don't see this as a big problem for public groups, it does pose problems for private groups. If an invite code cannot be changed or revoked, then a leak of that code effectively nullifies the "private" function of that group.
As an example, I create a RES-only group and set it to private, and then invite a bunch of RES agents. One of those agents decides to flip to ENL some time in the future, and then to troll us they share that invite code with other ENL agents. Since History is always visible, this seriously undermines that.

I agree.
Workaround is inviting agent directly from user profile. If user search feature might be available in the future, a moderator can find out user and invite them.
In this case, invite code feature could be turned off.
