What is the point of points?
Just wondering if there is any practical benefit from forum points and badges beyond bragging rights? I tried to search the forum to find out but "badges" generates a crazy number of results.

The only benefit right now is reaching 50 points, which promotes you to Level 2, enabling you to post links and pictures. As Level 2 is automatically awarded after 24 hours though, even without reaching 50 points, yeah, they're pretty useless and only used for bragging.
