Interaction with something other than portals, and customization of portals.
We have shard mechanics in our game. Why not introduce items into the ingress "for example, shards of shaper and nzir technologies" that could be taken, hooked and transported by a drone and, with the help of a drone, installed on a specific portal to improve it? Imagine a portal in which there are two rings of resonators, or a portal in which there are 5 or 7 slots for modifiers, or additional protection, or an additional turret or an increase in item drops.
How do you see that, in addition to interacting with portals, interaction with certain objects moving or located near the portals appears? Imagine different quality shards of technology, rare, ultra-rare, legendary ... and imagine different types of modified portals?
You go for a super rare piece of technology to a remote portal to get it and install it in your favorite portal. Or to transport it to your favorite portal? You can either transport it using a drone or move it to your inventory, where such a shard will take from 5 to 200 inventory units. Depending on the rarity of the shard ... How do you like this mechanic? And if you want to put a dislike, then at least write what you don't like?
The picture came out clumsy but in general conveys the essence.
I forgot to add about the appearance of these fragments. It would be nice if the rarest shards would appear at the most rarely visited and distant portals. This would again make even the oldest players fall into the field, and the most common and rare fragments would appear in cities. But just for heaven's sake, there shouldn't be too many of them, like Pokemon under every ****. It doesn't take much of them to be fought for. Imagine how this game feature can be played in the plot and how it diversifies the gameplay?

Basically catching pokemons but in Ingress? No thx
Since when did shard mechanics become mechanics for you from Pokemon Go?
will it take a lot of time to stay in the game, bringing anomaly life in the daily activities of playing ingress (5 hours).
I have been playing Ingress for 7 years. Now the game has become routine. When I tried to recruit someone new, it took a week or a month for him to get bored.
Some of these ideas would be good. A little variety of the game would be a lot of fun, but this is a topic for long-term thinking.
Sounds good. I think it will significantly improve the game dynamics, but, is there some take and retake the shard in this scenario?
I believe shard like stuff should be for shard like events.
On the other hand, gathering XM technology could be easily integrated as part of the lore and have some kind of impact in the game. How about using them to allow mod upgrades? It has been suggested elsewhere for mods to be allowed to get upgrades just like resonators do, perhaps adding a requirement to use this concept as a cosumable token?
interesting idea.
It is very sad that the developers have not answered this topic.
I think that the idea of using drones to transport "something" from portal to portal is actually pretty good.
This makes... zero sense. PoGo gyms are not customizable, and stops mostly aren't. (There's a single slot for lures, but that only affects what spawns and how often, it has zero impact on PvP or item drops). Ingress portals have always been customizable via mod slots, and this takes that to the next level.
Pokemon are permanent, they grow and level, and they attack and defend directly as creatures. These items... don't. They're not creatures, they're just a new type of item, and one that directly fits into both the lore and existing gameplay of the game.
