Please implant Vulkan API and we can use Vulkan instead of OpenGL in settings. Vulkan are mutch faster and better.

This is a Star Trek reference, I pressume?
Random other 3D environment. Somehow I think this is a non-starter.
Fast googling suggests it should be as easy as tuning player settings in Unity and moving Vulcan API at the top of the list so it is used always if it's supported. Sounds like something worth of a try.
Someone ELI5, what does the Vulkan API do, or how would it benefit Ingress? Honest question, I have no clue.
Idk about smartphones but on PC enabling Vulkan in a game usually bumps FPS a bit and makes framerate more stable.
So what I'm hearing is 60fps? ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ
Honestly, anything that improves and stabilizes framerates will be a gift, even if we stay capped at 30fps. I wanna burst in the middle of town without the scanner slowing to a crawl for the few animation seconds of the XMP.
Ingress needs to work on budget smartphones though, and Apple hasn't announced support for Vulkan at all.
AFAIK implementing Vulkan could be an improvement. I've seen it implemented post-release in a few other games, and it generally does boost performance. There is the question of universal compatibility and the time investment needed to implement, though, so I couldn't tell you if it'd actually be worth the effort once all was said and done.
