Drone returned without recall or portal destruction

My drone was returned to me. I did not recall and the portal group I left it at still stands.

EDIT: restarted the game and the drone was where it was supposed to be. Would have been disappointing if I would have moved it. So more appropriate description of the issue would be the drone appeared to be returned and gave me the option to move it from my avatar until I restarted the game

I expected that my drone would stay until recalled or the portal destroyed.

I don’t know if I could recreate the issue

    I have also seen this several times - my drone appeared to be returned to me, but a restart of the app and the drone was where it should have been.

    I do not know what, if anything, has been different when this has happened, so cannot recreate the issue.

    I have not tried moving the drone while it has appeared to be returned - I do not wish to risk it as my drone is currently far from home.

    I have also seen this once on S8. I was quite suspicious also since i had received no recall notice. Inasl restarted, and it also fixed it for me.
