Why not? For example: It gives people the knowledge that their friend flipped that portal to get rid of a drone, rather than because they wanted to start drama. And in an hour they'll flip it back.
Their friend? Flipped what portal? In my case I don't even know what portal it was - it didn't say it on scanner. I checked IITC map, and there I can see which portal it was.
For translation issues it is better to add the translation you think is more suitable (as Hydracyan did) and tag Brian so he can check with the translators team. My last translation report was done in the bugs section and Brian took note of it that very same day.
drone placement through key? so everyone will place his drone to the p8s next to it from this free key. one evil player will destroy them and sends all the drones home 🙈🤷♀️
I guess it would be nice, but I am still failing to see why we need to see in activities when one player returns a drone of some other player, and why we need to see other drones (probably because of 8 drones per portal limit, but then why do we need this limit?). I'd rather see my activity on how much AP I am getting for my actions like in old scanner.
I flipped a portal to get rid of a drone as an experiment, but doing so regularly is a massive waste of flip cards, especially with how easily drones can just show back up.
Personal opinion here, but generally, home portals are usually known already and fairly easy to identify by repeated deploys. If someone were to park their drone at my hypothetical home portal, they'd be welcome to. I won't know who it is other than faction, and them having a drone parked at my place just means they're not out using it to farm gear or increase a badge. They lose, I don't. At least now I'd be able to see where they are and if I felt like it, could do something about it to force a recall.
Quite frankly, if you don't let it bother you, then you're effectively rendering them powerless. Nothing worse for a troll to realise they're not getting a rise out of you.
Drones are used in many functionalities and one of them is to explore other environments. So, I think we need an Explorer Drone medal! The portal layers should show which portals the drone passed through, but it shows the drone itself from both factions, which is interesting, but it is not the history of the portal the drone visited.
I originally thought that Drone layer would be so that we can see which portals we have already hacked with Drones and which we haven't yet. Instead, we got what we got.
I have a question concerning the Maverick medal. On the original news post it says this
"if you hack the same Portal twice the medal will increment by 2".
Doesn't this mean that the badge will go up by 2? Maybe i didnt understand something right because i tried drone hacking portals that i captured irl, i tried moving the drone between 2 portals back and forth to hack them again and nothing got the medal up by 2. Please help
Just moving won't increment the counter. You'll need to drone-hack the portal. Basically each portal hack via drone will increment the badge, whether its a unique hack or not.
Yea i know. Im always hacking with the drone. My question basically is : can the medal go up by 2 with one hack? What is that line from the original post stating?
No, the medal goes up by one each hack. And the post you quoted previously says "if you hack the same portal TWICE the medal will increment by 2" - i.e. increments by 1 for each hack. Basically it is trying to make the point that Maverick has nothing to do with unique portals, just hacks done.

Reveal cheaters.
Cheaters doing what? Hunting drones? Drone hacking?
idk.. but u still cant see who the drone belongs to so it doesnt matter really.
Translation in portuguese is wrong.
Making it literal to english it's saying: "Your drone returned in/at agentname"
A better adaptation would be "Seu drone retornou devido a agentname" or "Se drone foi retornado por agentname"

It's the same in Russian 😄

Yeah, I just did in the release notes discussion where Russian translation was mentioned, another player there also mentioned tagging Brian.
It would be helpful if the alert was like "your drone was returned by agent at portal name" with the link to portal active.
anyone else taking a small detour like me because i've seen a blue drone on a blue (low level) portal? 😂 and i've send it home

This will be a new source of harassment. They will keep the drone floating instead of scattering items as a sign that they have identified your home.

39.7% "Almost half" ??? I love your optimism 🤣

A very pitiful way to explain it, I'd say.
