Go ahead. The code used in redacted would no longer function because the code literally isn't allowed by the phone operating systems. Effectively you'd be quitting Ingress. 👍
For those who don't remember, Redacted had plenty of bugs, and you had to restart the app every hour or two or it would grind to a halt. The UI was clunky and fixes were often jury rigged in, like recycling a single key, or using a cube.
Prime has it's issues, some big too, but I wouldn't go back to Redacted at this point, because we'd lose too many of the improvements like history on the map, kinetic capsules, fast cube access, mass recycle, multi-delete of keys etc.
If you want to improve Prime, make posts and upvote others posts, about what you want to see changed. "Reduced graphics" is a common comment buried in other threads for example, but you never see a post saying "Turn down this, change this, improve this" specifics about Prime. Usually, people just post an old Redacted screenshot, and frankly, no-one ever played Redacted for the graphics. They were at best, rudimentary.
We've been over this discussion. Niantic is not going to return to redacted. They decided Prime was the better option for them with continuing Ingress beyond RoboVM's ****. In return, we had an overlap of both scanners for about a year functioning. I can't think of a similar situation with any app on iOS and Google Play that faced this obstacle. The redacted scanner was moved to a separate app while Prime replaced the existing one - I usually see the complete opposite.
I don't want Redacted back, but there are definitely a couple of features that I frequently miss and would love to have back. The two biggest ones are navigate to portal and profile screenshot. Losing screenshot is surprisingly impactful to me. I understand why some people prefer the text format that they can drop into stats apps but the price is casual sharing with friends, an archive of souvenir screenshots, and having stats screenshots mixed in with other photos in my archive so that I can see them in the context of what was happening at the time.
it was maybe unstable at anomalies etc but causal play the last years it was stable as rock for me very rarely it froze or hanged.... comm was fast and working as it should compared now how broken comm stil is.

I think the "Profile Screenshot" is more likely to be implemented as a web page off the Intel map, than we'll ever see it on the Scanner itself.
I disagree that Redacted needed to be restarted every hour or two? Towards the end it was extremely stable.
