Yes, I know, and I did not believe a word any of those times. I still don't.

    😊

  • You have absolutely no proof that mass reporting actually works purely on the strength of numbers.

And you choose to ignore the statement to the contrary from the very people that have this proof.

There's no helping willful ignorance, I guess.

    Willful ignorace, how pretty.

Someone, please, show me (and any other willful ignorant like me) how successful ban was applied after single report so I learn what is it really required to achieve such thing.

Details provided in the ticket and time lapse are 2 clear data that would shut down all this noise once and for all. No names required.

Why would anyone waste time trying to use an exploit that is not an exploit at all? I think I fed you enough for today.

  • I could point you to the plethora of spoofing accounts reported for which we've logged resets. Those are banned, and with a single report. I myself have reported accounts that spoofed the Africa BAF and they have been banned. Single report as well.

People exploit what they think works. Whether it actually does is another matter entirely. Correlation doesn't mean causation.

  • People exploit what they think works, but correlation ≠ causation. You cannot possibly prove that mass reporting works (actually, you're making the claim that it does - what is your evidence), and you're reversing the burden of proof.

I wish us "commoners" could submit a single report and have a spoofer banned. Last one I reported, and went through the TR process a few times (by multiple agents for multiple spoofed locations) before it was finally banned. Other ones such as CT-USA thread shows a similar issue.

Maybe we don't have all of the correct information to submit such reports? Or do we need to be part of a special group, where our reports might gain better reviewing from "support" or "NIA Oops, err Ops"

I think at this point were are getting back to the point of frustration, to the why bother to submit a report if it's just going to be closed out and nothing done?

  • I am just as much a "commoner" as you. I am not a TR. And being a VG does not give us any influence on bans or ban appeals.

What should be submitted for a good report is the IGN (copied from comms), the reason for the report, ie Location spoofing, etc, with the portal link and date/time with UTC offset of the action (recent events, nothing older than 30 days) and a very short description of the instance in question.

There is no need to write essays, link documents, show google map routes, etc. Ops will do their own investigation.

  • One of the bigger Problems i see is that reporting "Multiaccount players" doens't seam to work very well.

There a a lot people openly telling you they have one or multiple other accounts to hold items or to "troll the oposing faction".

But if you report them nothing ever seam to happen as all the accounts keep beeing active.

Nice text, but this not happens equaly to all people i think.

Done quite appeals for ban for low level accounts playing at bad hours and dificult locations with all the information (hours, intel links, a brief explanation, profiles closed or with 0km) and still waiting their bans....

Also it's ridiculous to ear about places where multiaccounting is the normalize, where people have 2 or 3 accounts. They play in the street by two hands and two dispositives and switching to the third account, goes to IFS and no one could do nothing. This is quite ridiculous.

It's normal that in ur position you have to defend NIA, but don't try to sell us that they are doing a great job about the ticketing reports, this is not credible.

  • i could vouch for me and anyone in my household who would be playing. afterall, if you spend lots of time together, multiple events, looking closely at ones hands, can check their phone, and know their abilities (cheating requires some knowledge, skills and software) - you should be able to tell if they are cheating or not. and constantly playing together (say - as a family - 2-3-4 agents, ona regular basis) is NOT cheating, isn't it?

Do you follow them into the restrooms as well? There are various forms of cheating, and not all require skill or knowledge of software. Even if that person themselves doesn't cheat, if another family member has access to their account, they might be the ones responsible for what happens to it. Some cheating is done in ignorance. Like sharing accounts. Buying gear from a third party site because you're out of stock and can't be bothered/have the time to farm.

Point is, you really cannot vouch 100% for anyone other than yourself.

There's nothing against families that play together, as long as each person plays legit and manages their own account.

It's up to every player to familiarise themselves with the ToS. Ignorance of the forms of cheating is not an excuse.

  • i strongly disagree. all forms of cheating require some knowledge and effort, which in most cases can not be hidden that easy. spoofing and hack-cheating require extra software, mule/backpack requires either second device or second account on the same phone. "buying from third party" requires a rare resource called money, and spending is easily tracked in family budget. i can be 100% sure of what my kid does on his phone. every IT person knows pretty well who in his/her household has skillset for cheating.

  • I will stick with my initial statement. You can never be 100% sure what anyone else does with their account, or who they share their account with.

  • If I got just 1€ for every report I made that followed these instructions reporting blatant, obvious spoofers (closed parks and cemeteries at night, crossing walls, magical travel times to mountains summits...) that did NOT result in a ban... Well maybe it wouldn't pay for a holiday, but certainly for a very good meal in a nice restaurant.

So it looks like all commoners are equal, but some are more equal than others.

  • lol. You will never be 100% sure of what your children do and where they spend their money, irrespective of whether you're an IT person or a forensic analyst.  Some so-called IT people wouldn't even know how to turn on a PC!

  • Magical travel times to mountain summits or between portals is the only point I agree with here. Just because a place (such as a park, cemetery, theme park etc) is usually closed does not prove/mean it was closed at the time the alleged spoofer was there. You need to provide proof that the place was actually closed at the time of the alleged action, not just google and/or other evidence of usual closing times. There may have been a special event/occasion or extended opening hours at that point in time meaning access was justified. The person may also work at those places therefore has 24/7 access

  • you may speak for yourself.

freely spendable money in form, that is usable for internet payments (read: creditcard, that is not reported to me) may not be avialable for certain kids. (in my case - probably until they're 21). hence - i AM sure, they do not spend it. and i can check the phones.

and let's not forget - there is a thing called trust. sorry, if you can not trust your own close family even in insignificant things (like playing cooperative without cheating)... sorry.

  • Cheaters have been around from the start ,I was hoping Prime would have resolved the cheating but it apparently hasn't , Prime is a money grab now, it's changed for the worse

We had one of these in my area, too -- a very active player's less-active SO was terminated. At least two appeals brushed off with form letters. It really ripples through a whole community.

(Oops, didn't mean to commit thread necromancy, this post was on the top of the forum somehow.)

  • I was killed off twice. Frogs and smurfs in the local area believe one frog had the ability though the trusted reporter system to have me taken down. They reorganized or got rid of it and now i continue playing with my third account because his cheating spoofing accounts hardly play anymore. Just saying.
