"Five stars raid" L8 portals

Hi, I feel that L7-8 portals should not be able for one single player to destroy within few seconds. In normal it takes 8 players to build a level 8 and it can be difficult to defend it when the game uses many seconds to start or you have a poor connection.
Am I the only one?

Welcome to the game. If the portal isn’t fully charged, doesn’t have shields and/or shields were knocked off, it’s easy to take down. Even if a person is defending, and if the game takes time to load it’s a double-edged sword for both teams. That goes for any level. Just part of the game.
Sadly I belive you are one of few. I hear your pain, but at the same pace as ArkFang said, Welcome to the game. Because it is just a game. Sometimes a L8 portal will get decimated by a player because they have the resources to do so. As well they could simply use a flip card and get rid of your portal that way.
Besides, you'd have to let the portal die eventually to be able to gain the points bonus for the deployment of the first and last resonator. That or hope that, in your desire, that a bunch of agents would want to take down your portal. But only one of them would gain the points, leaving the others in the lurch.
It just wouldn't work, in my personal opinion.
Destruction should always require less effort than Building, because a dynamic game requires constant change. If it's impossible to destroy portals without a group of players, the game will become stagnant with everyone hunkering down in their own little area, and far less activity.
