No visual feedback for destroying a shield

in Report a Bug
Contrary to the behaviour of the Scanner REDACTED in Prime there's virtually no visual feedback when shield is destroyed while attacking a portal.
This makes you either waste a lot of ultrastrikes or constantly enter portal status to check what mods are left.

Aside from it not being a bug, there is a pretty clear indication when a shield breaks. I didn't have any blue portals to smash, so the shield break animation from the tutorial has to suffice.
You can clearly see the shield rings imploding and then exploding. I liked the Redacted animation better tbf, but saying that there is no visual indicator at all is wrong.
Destroying a shield creates a definite higher, smaller ring that evaporates. It's as clear as the old "red in a sea of red" animation from Redacted.
That said, I think a better change would be to keep all shields at the highest opacity instead of having them phase in and out of visibility, so that even if you miss the shield destroy animation, you could count the rings immediately without having to wait for them to come back down.
But as mentioned, not a bug.
I miss the dome-like shields...
The last time I had occasion to care about this, the problem was not that there was no animation, per se, but that the animation was tied to when Prime checked/updated the portal's state and that those updates didn't occur with every ultrastrike that you fired. Hence…
This makes you either waste a lot of ultrastrikes or constantly enter portal status to check what mods are left.
By comparison, Redacted either checked/updated the portal's state with every ultrastrike or checked it so frequently that it might as well have been doing that.
