Cost for jarvis
Does anyone else think the cost for a jarvis in the kinetic capsule is just dumb. Its bad enough that to get a jarvis you need an ada, yea people will have some lying around, but others won't be lucky enough. But they even add the need to put in xmps too? When I saw the opportunity to get a jarvis from the kinetic capsule u thought that I would have a decent way to get some for a week and would have been put every day walking at least 12km with the game open to get them. But now I would need to use my 1 ada once and then hope to the ingress gods that I hack another ada ..... which would be pointless as in reality id just be wanting to hack the jarvis

This recipe is the "trade with the bank option" for those who won't trade with other agents 🤣
No, I'm generally happy happy with this. I seem to hack twice as many ADA than Jarvis and yet don't really have the need to use the ADA. I'm currently sat on about 50 because despite not using them I am reluctant to recycle them.
Generally, it will be Resistance players who will need the Jarvis and for the most part will see the value of using the ADA and a few XMPs.
It would just be playing on easy mode if we were able to create a Jarvis (or any very rare item for that matter) from some trash mods or low level gear.
The whole point is that they are meant to be very rare items and by needing a ADA to create they are maintaining the rarity and limiting the amount within the game.
it would be OP if u could create virus just from some bursters and resonators... this is to keep game balance imo good.
This isn't a permanent recipe, it's a short term special event. Many agents are lower than they would like on flip cards due to years of stagnation since they cut off capsule duplication for VR items. This was a chance to build up some further reserves, and they ruined that by insisting you must have virus to make virus.
That's not crafting, that's just changing virus alignment.
I didnt think just resos and busters, imo they could have easily made it that 4 or 5 vr items, plus busters, plus resos, plus cubes, with the 4km walk, would be more than enough for a virus thats only going to be around for a week.
I'm not going to trade in 1 vr and a few common items to get 1 vr item. It doesn't make any sense.
it feels fair so that virus don't become common items
i would gladly use an ada recipe that use a jarvis
I have to say the cost of an ADA has dampened my enthusiasm for crafting jarvis. I might even just make other items instead.
I might run one just to say I did, but otherwise, I have far less ADA than jarvis and am okay keeping it that way.
This does multiple things. Clear up inventory issues, swap something from very specific use to general use and do so in a this works for me way. Looking forward.
Flip cards to eliminate your faction's derps are more valuable than those to flip what you can easily **** with bursters/ultrastrikes.
By requiring a 1:1 transfer to get a virus, you're letting people make strategic decisions instead of letting them create viruses out of thin air. I'm a huge fan of this limitation they implemented, it means people still have to hack (and by proxy, glyph) for their advanced gear. Very very wise choice on Niantic's part to keep balance.
The recipe turned out to be almost exactly what I was predicting it would be.
I think 'transmuting' from one to another would be a great way to handle the capability going forward. I use ADA far more than Jarvis, and it would be nice to convert the stockpile over.
Please forgive me
For what? 😁👍️
For spending time on the meme haha
So, Niantic followed your recipe after all! How cool! I can balance the number of my ADAs and Jarvis viruses and attain a state of equilibrium. 😀
The cost doesn't seem very steep since virii are "very rare" anyway. With the other VR gear there is a rare version of it (multihacks, heat sinks) but there isn't a "rare Jarvis virus" so this seems fair. It's actually reassuring to me, I was worried it would end up too easy.
Res agents are using Jarvis more than ADA, so it's a cool way for them to convert ADA they can have in stock with few opportunities to use into valuable Jarvis, providing them an advantage over Enl. Since Res won the challenge it makes sense they are the one ending with that advantage, it also makes sense for it not to be OP because that would hurt the balance of the game too much.
Prefer had to throw VR shield or two in, or other vr gear.
I think each faction already has a higher chance of getting opposite item already?
Ie Res hack more Jarvis and Enl more ADA.
My feeling is that I'm looting more of my faction item, but since it's also the one I'm using less often then I might be biaised.
I smile.
I have always got far to many ada and always too little jarvis so happy to make the trade.
In the run up yes.
My box it feels like every 500-750 hacks or so I'll pull one or the other. Yet if I pull one, I'll pull a second quickly, and then not pull anything for a good while.
This special has been good to me, clear some inventory that was taking up space and convert it to something useful.
So much this.
Depends on area. With few players, own faction devices good for flipping up portals you can't get to 8 any other way.
