Mark II global fac vs fac event

Here's the outline for an event I'd love to experience.

Release the Mark II Drone and have it only travel through links*. No link and/or portal fac change = Drone is stuck (not returning home).

Event mission:

Each agent gets a (fairly) random portal assigned some where in the (playable) world. One only you know (if you don't share intel).

Move your Mark II to your portal ASAP through you own skills/luck and/or fac collaboration.

Drone hack the specific portal and earn a) a vr superdrop b) points to your faction, and c) a part of a decoding puzzle.

(At this point you could get a new selected portal and so forth until the event is over, or one trip is what you get.)

When the event is over the fac with most points win (including special points for solving puzzles/codes and other possible side tasks).

Mark II gets send back home/ is killed off.

That's it!

OK so things can be elaborated/developed, but that's the main concept. Any takers ?

*one might consider all traveling to be possible, not only by links, but links making it possible to travel longer/faster by skipping portalsteps. Also one might consider being able to move to closest portal in all directions, to prevent getting stuck due to vast portal empty areas - like open sea. You get the picture

I like the idea of superdrop on target portal and points for faction on arrival.

Maybe instead of totally random own portal for each active player, that could be more grouped up: have a target portal for each batch of e.g. 1000 players of the same faction. That would open some room for global coordination (shards!!1!11).

Then we'd have a situation when, say, I and a few other agents from my country need to transfer their drones to some single portal somewhere on another side of the continent, and we can work together for that.

I'm all for a more shardish version as well!

Concept of a (more or completly) unique portal would be more of a stealth mode... = harder for other faction to prevent, though you could still share your portal with your community and help each other out. Plus portals being divided all across the world and not only the classic locations =involving agents from all over.

I don't like the idea of getting more via drone than actually walking.

The idea is nice but without the vr superdrop

Thank you! I'm a big fan of walking, and moving around rl for traditional events as well. I also prefer a game that doesn't get easier and easier overall. But considering the ongoing pandemic and the fact that there is a drone option, my suggestion was an attempt towards a bit more complex virtual-based "one of a kind" event, bringing agents together in both more interactive collaboration as well as faction competition. And not to mention, something that opened up for story and lore.

Consider the drop was meant for a one time event - much like a passcode - and is per se of no significance to the concept other than as a motivation bonus. Was my way of saying "drop something nice and it could be rare just as long as it is not another than QC ;)"
