I predict March global challenge won by Res with ~7% difference.

I know I was running around like a mad person. Took a few hundred portals to figure out best way to deploy.

And how many agents played which is the more important number.

Hrm - I think Enl have won the most real world anomaly events?

One really active player can outplay 10-20 'lazy' players easily.

Encourage your less actives to play hard.

  • As has been mentioned elsewhere, one idea is to have the score based on the average deploys, but some people think this would cause a negative reaction, with people telling others to 'stay home if you're not doing enough'.

This is one of the advantages of the challenge badges, once we can get back to them. People aren't willing to stay home when there's a badge in the offing.

  • Or even better... The deployments Pr. Cell. When these large scale events runs, it is fun to interact with local community to spread out the effort and it could be fun to see how the local communities (cell's) are doing against each other. This could be sort of a `mini anomaly' I know that most cells have a 'gut feeling' on the difference, but still, it could be fun to see the numbers

Challenge like this would be more fun within each cells instead and not just global.

IMO there are 2 points to take in account:

    1) How many agents couldn't play because of COVID restrictions?

    2) How many agents didn't play because they want to craft their own faction's Virus program?

So it's not just a statistical problem but also what the single agents wished to achieve; but the point is still valid as Eos Protocol Phase 1 report showed us.

    or

    3) How many people still play the game, regardless of point 1 or 2

Assuming a 500 deploy per agent, roughly 3.5K agents worldwide.

That seems like probably too high an average, quite a few active agents out there who deploy far less than that. Casuals, destroyers, single reso commuters and unique hunters, players recharging non-competitive areas, players who slowed down/took a break over the weekend for life reasons, etc. Though I do agree with the larger point that the numbers are pretty low. There are individual agents who have more lifetime resos deployed than the global totals from the event.

  • This low number also doesn't factor in the situation that many 'otherwise invested' players are currently looking at COVID figures for their region and seeing either spikes or the tail end of a huge Christmas spike and deciding it's not worth it for no real reward (since KC's also require going outside a lot).

I mean, at least the challenge wasn't global MU where a handful of spoofers could build gigafields over Africa.

Locally it appeared to be a real challenge for local ENL to get out and actually deploy resos on any portals over the weekend. Time to up your game ENL...maybe push agents to get out and play during these events? Then again I did throw down a bit over 6k resos for the event...doubtful local ENL could even attempt to make up that difference.
