I predict March global challenge won by Res with ~7% difference.
February 2019:
Global Hacking Challenge, score: 1.77M Enl to 1.89M Res = 7% difference.
Unique Hack Challenge, score: 2.22M Enl to 2.39M Res = 7% difference.
I suppose that currently we have about 7% active playerbase difference between Enl and Res.
When was even the last global challenge with some very simple rules, won by Enl? I'm not talking about anomalies, Tessellation, shards. I'm talking about "who hacks/deploys/captures moar worldwide, wins".
My thought is that holding such global challenges which are decided simply by the number of active players worldwide is wrong and makes no sense until the number of active players is balanced between factions. Until that happens, I think it would be more clever and fair for outcome of such events to depend on some sort of mean contribution of all active agents in a given faction.
I also expect to see a lot of Disagrees from Res on this post :Ъ
Your thoughts?

Fellas.... we are pro-gamer... we don't play on easy mode... LoL.
Hold your horses!
I don't plan to give up in this event!
Oh for sure I'll do my best!
We'll lose by 8% this time.
thats makes sense, so it should be Jarvis program, not bad.
But there is always a probability low numbers can overcome high numbers. Let's see.
i agree, global stat challenge are just a which faction has more agent poll.
Make it reso per agent !
Blue is one of the most common favourite colours more so than green.
Many players choose faction by colour and not necessarily because of the ideology and stuff.
Naturally blue team could be chosen more and might have more players.
Anyway due to current restrictions all regions might not be able to play fully like before and some areas are dominated by one faction compared to others. There is huge scope for a different result this time.
Also Niantic can't do much about uneven player number. Average per player for score sounds good but due to restrictions many players might only be able to do small contributions and it will bring down the average.
I think the best thing to do now is to motivate the players to try harder by.
Then up your game.
Not playing because of a perceived advantage will then inevitably make that outcome a reality, and then you'll say "See, I told you so."
Poor excuse.
If you want your faction to win, then get out there and contribute to their chances. Encourage your community to do the same.
I'd like to know scores without spoof participation :)
so strange if its gonna be 7% again lol....
They could introduce a golf-like handi'cap. So if 7% is true, they just add a 1.07 multiplier to the ENL score. Then its a real challenge again.
Interesting... I will wait to see the results because this won't be like previous FvF challenges and there is no medal involved.
On one hand, you'll probably right, but on the other hand, many people won't participate due to restrictions and fear (like me) and these can be from both factions.
There was a this home event recently, the Couchnomaly. Anyone can get the numbers on that one?
Much like in Vegas, you've got to play to win.
Be the change you wish to see in the world. It’s time to deploy, agent.
@1valdis: I disagree 😝but on the other hand, i also agree that Res will win again!
I'm just worried about how will Niantic prevent cheaters form turning the game! Current metric will allow backpack users to reset the map as many times as they want and keep getting extra deploys!
Final scores will be interesting. Seems like EMEA is under the heaviest lockdown globally, which is usually Res dominated. Could bring gameplay to a closer balance. Either way, I'm super excited to have something competitive again!
I also totally echo @GoblinGranate's concerns about backpackers, but that won't stop me from giving it my all either!
My thoughts about the content of the post are - you play with what you've got.
But I'm curious about the 7% active player difference. Does Niantic supply this data?
In the words of Wikipedia, "citation needed".
Not surprising since Mystic sits at over 50% of the active PoGo playerbase, and those tend to cross over to Res when they try out Ingress mostly unless there's already community integration/outreach from Enl.
First numbers:
RES: 326.341
ENL: 305.531
6.8% lead by Res...
Not over yet. But so far looking quite good :) Let's see some final results...
Personally this event should have been based on cells and not just global.. would been more interesting imo..
This is the TOLD YA comment you're waiting for.
@NianticBrian I hope you see how predictable the outcome was with such rules, and in future we'll see events with rules better suited for inequality between global faction player counts.
@1valdis has been promoted to ENL Nostradamus. 😂
Needless to say, the final percentage is 5.996291233% for RES faction and according to local numbers that makes like 2 RES agents less that previous events xD
886548/833388 = 1.0637878
Or you can just get 100% - the result of Enl*100/Res. 😘
I would be very interested in knowing the resonators/agent for both sides. But we'll never get that.
886,548+833,388= 1,719,936
886,548/1,719,936= 0.51545 = 51.5%
833,388/1,719,936= 0.484545 = 48.5%
Roughly a 3% victory for the Resistance.
