Same thing happening on Android. They were all there in the newest update though, so it seems to be a server side bug.
EDIT: And they have returned. @PkmnTrainerJ, can you check if your buttons are there as well?
These all seem to back now so that was a weird bug.
As it seems to disappear and reappear for everyone at the same time, I assume Niantic tweaked some things on the servers, which hid the buttons for a short while.
