The only agent in Belize - an experience
I first heard of Ingress through PoGo in its release sometime around 2016 (if I remembee correctly). Out of curiosity I went to the play store to see if Niantic had other games to play, and I stubled onto Ingress. It was a low spec game perfect for my phone. I started playing it for a bit and I liked it. Being in high school, however, I couldn't really pay for that much data that often, so eventually quit. I came back just at the last few moments of the ol black n blue scanner and saw it change to what we now know - Prime. I again saw interest in the game but same as before, I couldnt afford the data cost.
Ever since then I've been (what I believe to be) the only player in my country. All across these forums, players are talking about the game dying a slow ****, and I'd hate for that to happen. I also wish there were more players here, but I can't believe that anyone even plays PoGo anymore. A few portals have appeared between the last time I had the game and now, so someone had to have submitted them. I'm currently growing my fields at a slow but steady pace.
Is anyone else the lone player in their city/state/province/town/country? What are your thoughts?

Try recruiting people :)
Any strategy to go about it? How do I introduce the game to make it sound fun?
I travel to Belize every so often and play. So maybe we'll see each other at some point. Otherwise, last time I was there was, given, a while ago due to travel restrictions, but at the time there were several active-ish players. Too bad if they have since dropped off the map though.
You can try introducing them by the Anime. It's good, not very accurate (about actual gameplay), but can give the ambientation.
You can just show to a friend and combine some longer links and fields.
to make the game interesting, you would need a player of the opposite faction. but normally you recruit players to your own faction.
