I would like that, would make umit soo much easier to track what needs recharged (assuming you want to keep something charged) at least when in inventory
I think the same idea has been suggested, but you should take in mind that, as the map is changing constantly, it would be highly expensive to compute.
Sorting by name or distance can be done client side (though I admit I don't know for sure that it is) and does not change all that often, but portal faction/charge is not requested from the server until they key is actually shown in the inventory list... hence the few seconds delay when scrolling. To sort by charge, the data would have to be pulled from the server for every single key in your inventory at once, and that data can change by the second. That means polling the servers for data on every single key every time the inventory list is opened.
I agree and understand your point, but if i'm playing ingress on bike.... the sort by distance also changes every second (certainly near a portal dense area). But i don't know how much of a difference that makes in data usage vs. the energy status tbh.

Or at least with the same scalebar as intel (0 -25 -50 -75 -100).
Also beeing able to mark "favorite' keys and be able to sort on that criteria would be nice.

But in that case, typically the position of only one object (you) is changing, so the calculation can easily be done client-side.
Another possible subscription option, maybe with a once per hour refresh of that sort filter.
It's funny how someone disagrees with you when this is literally the reason why it's not a thing.
