How much time does it take to hear back on this fast track program? Sent in some details from point a to point b, with google maps included. Lambert gave me a response, but haven't heard anything via telegram
It has been known for some time that there is a strike system, in which players (generally speaking) receive warnings of inappropriate play, thus giving opportunities to redeem themselves and follow a fair play straight. This leads to the abuse continuing for a while, we do not know if something really happens right off the bat, but we can only think that at some point all that time we spend doing the reports will become valid.
I was speaking more in terms of hearing a response from someone involved with the fast track program itself. I’m making an assumption that fast track would mean I’d hear back from someone, faster, heh
I didn’t understand the process, thanks for clearing it up. It asked for my telegram username, so I assumed there might be some response sent there.
I do have one other question, which I’m not sure if you can answer. When I’m sending message to support/Lambert, I started to type, then hit shift-enter, thinking it would give me a new line. It didn’t, it sent the info and then I get a response that says we’ll review it. Does anything I send after that get added to the ticket?
I agree with this sentiment. The old TG bot you could at least put in some context. The lack of this option makes me think they are only considering a very specific checklist of items. There is data locals could provide that a reviewer would not be able to know.
To be fair, the concept that Niantic needs to have players review their work is something of an issue with Niantic's process. If this process improved the situation, then it's a better system. All that the TR's ever really did is put their own ticket in and then tell us when the ticket came back (or told us No).
You can still add context. When the ticket is created you still have the option to add more information. Use that to add the context, but best to keep it brief and relevant to the reported incident.
Really want to play and support Ingress community again, that is not happening until action by NIA to really address even the most blantant cheats happens.
I'm an idiot and can think of starting points for a discussion.
With the amount of information NIA have available on their agents there should be zero reason the obvious Spoofers can't be banned or reduced. Players having to report bots is sad.
We're in a Global pandemic. Low level agent crossing multiple continents destroying very specific portals in multiple cities far from airports? Ban/review.
Agent low level, no/low hacks, targeting portals that are holding up lots of links/fields, portal that is rarely captured, remote, travel speed fast? Ban/review.
Geo IP address doesn't match general game play area? Review.
Prohit open proxies / known VPNs... Or at least perform additional checks on user.
IP address matches previously used banned account and matches flags above? Flag for review.
Low level Agent going from country to county (or continent to continent) simply killing 1 or 2 portals, no other hacking or deploying? Ban.
I don't know what NIA does to proactively combat the most blantant cheaters, maybe they already do this and more. After talking with real agents overseas and learning we had the same fake account(s) taking out specific remote portals spread across the world.... It's seems obvious automatic actions are not effective.
I’m getting to a point where obvious non-human actions being allowed aren’t worth enjoying this game anymore. It’s easy to say, “that’s what they want” or “don’t let them win.” But, how long do you let it continue?
Spoofing is generally far reduced when there are lots of active players, and both sides have a good community, because they don't tolerate it from the player engaging in it.
You can see different levels of spoofing, the obvious ones who can fill different purposes (annoy your ennemy, take down a blocking link for future operation, instantly prevent enemy operation by throwing random links, there are hundreds), and you also can see spoofing that are obvious for someone in the area but won't alway be addressed by Niantic (very dangerous mountain peaks accessed in critical weather and a return at the closest village in a record time for example), because that time the cheater wanted to use this portal and store some keys so they spoofed with their own account and took extra precautions.
In the end all are filling the same purpose, which is the same as using backpack accounts: have a advantage on the opposite faction.
And from what i've seen in my area it works, cheaters are having this advantage and make good use of it. You get ban ? No problem, create another account and whine about having been banned by mistake (or pretend it's just temporary, whatever). The main issue isn't that people are cheating, it's having players in their faction tolerating it.
Absolutely. It’s easy to do simple maths and say, okay, in a straight line, paved path, on a bike in 85 degree F weather, it’s possible to make that journey in that time. But add conditions of the area and it becomes impossible. Yet, I’m guessing support is shy after having some bans go sideways and having to eat crow.
Wish it were easier to communicate with someone. Even working with the vanguards is frustrating because it feels like just dealing with a middle man. The reports don’t work, the fast track program doesn’t help, you just get an answer back faster and my perception is that the VGs hands are potentially tied. I remain optimistic, but like I said a couple days ago, my patience is wearing thi
If u never wrote anything in comm u should appeal this, cant be banned just playing the game if not interact with players in comm.. happend to a local player wrote something harmless and got same strike ban as u....

That's not how this works.
"If you think it's cheating report it to Niantic. Do not confront the player."
Niantic is not "swamped" with reports, they just can't find proof that a spoofer is spoofing.
And even less reports will be received over time :)
The best part is that someone will eventually state that "this is a good sign of improvement".
I think the new system is lacking context that the old TR system had. It's really disappointing. Why get rid of the old one if it worked.

No, that's not how it works.
Your ticket and fast-track request is evaluated and if it qualifies, it will be fast-tracked, else it's reviewed in the normal timeframe.
Your won't be contacted via TG. You will receive an email when the ticket has been reviewed, for both normal and fast-tracked tickets.
If you are found to be spoofing, you won't get a strike. You'll be banned.

Aah yes, the telegram info is required if a reset is requested, which will allow us VG to contact you for the details after the account is banned.
And yes, info added after the ticket is created is visible to Ops and included in the review.
Ahhhh, thank you so much! 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Niantic is too busy banning people that doining nothing wrong.. lost my account again on “offensive behaviour” against other player..
only problem;
I never meet up with other players, playing for myself.. but sure, answering on fake reports is more important for Niantic..

Don't talk on COMM. It's the troll tactic to report anything people say on COMM as harassment.

Sad to see that a ticket is even still required.

I’m playing in a pretty active area. It’s definitely happening.
So one faction community tolerates it? There was an 'and' in there.
Well, one must be... It’s the faction that has been on the losing side of the score, so maybe it’s easier to look past because of that 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
I find winning or losing has little impact on spoofing levels by whatever faction.
Some people do it just to be annoying/drive people from game.
Others seem to do it just for the hell of it.
You of course do see specific field drops etc.

Not true, you can receive strikes for hearsay reports. (non COMM)
cost saving
The TR's were/are player volunteers, unpaid...
But customer support are. Now it's customer support who decide whether to escalate reports to fast track channel. Hence less escalation
