Does the client even mention to new players to visit intel.ingress.com?
I'm curious, does the training or any part of the client point new players to using the intel website to look at the map for more data and planning? Or is it just assumed they'll meet someone who will tell them? I feel like that's a pretty critical part of the game that isn't being conveyed. Perhaps it's worthy of being an option under the main menu?

In the settings under "Additional resources", it's shown. I'm not sure if the same window comes up once someone finishes the tutorial though.
Good catch. Seems odd to hit menu-->settings-->scroll down--> additional resources. Why not just put that directly on the main menu?
Seems like a great missed opportunity to resolve so new people can easily find it.
Many moons ago, I described one way for how new players could be introduced to Intel and COMM. It was in the context of starting out under a field, but I'm sure it can be adapted to other scenarios.
It's not something explicitly stated but I also worry if it was added to the actions menu that it would be too many links:
I would also argue that it could be utilized on the new news feed
It's also on the main website as the second item in the menu.
Why is the intel map on the internet and not in the game? If it was just in the game then players waiting for the fields to die would be forced to keep the game installed on their phone.
Don't even think of removing Intel from site and moving it to the client. Browser Intel is too precious (hello IITC) for operations to lose it.
Intel could be on the score section.
Seeing as they used to have news feeds on the website, the website is an afterthought after it was updated for Prime.
(Intel web page still shows the Ingress Report!)
