Some suggestions and ideas for new Medals for the New Year:
So I have some ideas and suggestions for some new Medals for the new year. Christmas Gifts from me to Ingress.
First is "Forge"
Forge is my idea for a medal for Kinetic Capsules Completed. The Hammer on the Anvil is supposed to be a Kinetic Capsule.
Next is Drone Portals Visited:
Pretty Self Explanatory.
Drone Distance Travelled:
Two bees on a Link Amp. I have no doubt future iterations of Drones will be able to travel across links.
Archer:
What is Archer? A new idea based on dark XM challenge. A new stat sarting at 0, Cumulative Link Distance. Linking Stars in a Constellation is as linking portals. Black would have to be in the millions of kilometers.
Drone Killer:
A dead Bee with a push pin through it.
Portal Genesis:
Replaces Seer at more reasonable levels, but includes all previous credits.
Wanderer or Traveller:
This Medal would measure all Scoring Cells a player has hacked or captured a portal in. It should be pretty easy to backlog.
Feel free to comment or post your own.

I don't have designs, but current badges seem to be skewed toward construction and destruction gets the short end of the stick. We have existing stats for portals neutralized, links destroyed, and fields destroyed. Adding badges for those seems like a fairly simple task. MU-days would be good too.
Beyond puzzling nothing has been released for the drone yet.
Maybe a santa claus badge for xmas ??
I don't like Drones to be associated with insects. Also "Archer" will very encourage sh-tlinking. The other ideas are nice and yes, it is indeed BEYOND puzzling that there is no badge for Unique Portals Drone Visited. Why they so afraid of adding it?
They're wanting to see what the data shows for people using it. Also, it still needs to be find tuned where you can get stuck at some locations unless you have a key to the portal.
I feel like unique portals visited and/or drone distance don't really need much data to add, especially during a pandemic when it could be the perfect thing to keep people busy and logging into the game. The stuck drone doesn't happen often, but if you plan ahead, shouldn't be a problem. I wonder if Niantic even considers that a bug or not...
There's a plugin which allows you seeing for sure which drone jumps are one-way. This helps to plan things out before jumping.
Report it as a bug and see what happens
reporting anything to Niantic has been less than fruitful in my experience...
