New Drone Distance Record? 174 km 502 hops in 3 days
Taking advantage of the 10 minute drone flights for the Trek and Treat event agent nA4 completed a 174 km, 502 jump, 3 day drone trip down the southeast coast of Florida beginning at Tequesta and finishing at Homestead.
Is this a record drone trip? I've seen plans for longer trips but have been unable to find any that were actually run for that distance or greater.
Agent aRmothina was competing with nA4 during the event but experienced the dreaded forced recall at 55 km into his trip. Had he been able to complete his route he should have been at around 178 km... but that will have to wait for another day.

Good work, agent. Did you have to use keys for longer jumps?
Not a world record, though. Two German agents reached 216 km.
Yes, we had to get some keys. This was our first time trying to go for distance. We didnt know about the key trick going in but hit a stop on the first day and figured it out then.
216 is great. We intend on trying to creat some new portals north of our starting portal for a much longer run next time. I think with just a few more strategic portals we could almost double the distance.
The biggest problem is the forced recall. Two of us attempted this run and one got bumped at 55km. Longer trips open up a lot of exlosure to recall.
To prevent forced recall, I try to avoid main roads, city centers, transit stations, neutral and weak portals, and I when it is possible pass through areas which neutral or dominated by one faction. I reached 91 km (81 without key).
Problem is here there are a couple areas where you only have one narrow route down the coast. It was in one of those i got whacked.
