Apparently you need to hack or glyph more often. I get a ton of VRMH and VRHS.
If their intent is flooding the game with VR gear, then they'd release the ability to use a bunch of these kinetic capsules at the same time. I'd hope that isn't the case. They've already been flooding us with Hypercubes over the past few months.
Just one at a time, won't completely s c re w up the "economy" of VR gear. But 9x at a time? Maybe if they were 25 km or 50 km Kinetic capsules, but 8 km? That's roughly 5 miles. That's nothing. (if the game accurately can determine distance)

So I completed my first Kinetic Capsule tonight, and tracked it. I left the house with 0.1km on the clock. When I got to "Actual 8kms" this was the situation.
So I decided to keep walking, and then got to this point before it ticked over.
I also noticed that it seems to "chunk" updates which I assume is a factor of polling. I got to 7.9kms then walked at least 500m more before it actually ticked over to 8kms. Earlier it had been 7.1km, then a long gap to 7.3km, then a hundred meters or so later, 7.9kms.
Ok i went for a walk earlier, google fitness shows around 6,76 km walked, checking my kinetic it shows 5,6km walked out of 8 so you lose almost 1km not sure why? ingress was open the whole time did field, cap glyph etc in the city so it should have counted for more imo...
Please relese cool animation when Kinetic Capsule are complete. Very hard now to know when Kinetic Capsule are complete. Now i go over 2km more after Kinetic Capsule are comple and I must click on comm or inventory to know and see Kinetic Capsule are complete when I walk and have Prime open.

I'd rather not see another mandatory, time-killing animation.
I'd prefer a toast/push notification, or a pop-up similar in style to the "safety" warning when you launch the scanner (but only when on the main map screen). Something more obtrusive than the current quiet message in COMM, but not so obtrusive as to interfere with any linking, fielding, recharging, etc. that I might be in the middle of.
Didn't finish mine yet, but I believe that the red dot on menu button with a sound alert is enough. Maybe a simple light animation like the level up, but definitely not something that stop the gameplay and go to a new screen.
Ingress is doing the tracking itself. However, since (I think) 2.57, it's using the PoGo method, not the old point to point method. And like PoGo, it doesn't seem to keep up.
Niantic and @NianticBrian seem amenable to allowing a skipping of full screen animations. They recently changed the animation when purchasing items in the score, to be tap-skippable, so you're not waiting for an animation to complete before buying more.
For my feel, some sort of pop up would be nice, though I'd think of something more like the Badge awarding popups. I was paying close attention to my first one, but likely unless you're checking regularly, knowing when the capsule completes will be missed.
I call it animation when same as we buy items. I hope we can get somthing similar and ADA say Kinetic complete and Kinetic Capsule pop up and we must click on the Kinetic Capsule.
If I don't want to open the capsule then and there, I don't have to. A notification, or even a Green dot in the center of the Action Ring (like the Red one for Drones) would be a good option. No animations that force us to do something.
You must have Ingress Prime open and go when Niantic dont add adventure sync. Soon they add Adventure Sync. I think next update 2.58.2 have Adventure Sync.
As for syncing, my experience, is that, deploys, links, hack/glyphs and firing XMPs, doesn't always sync properly.
Ie when reviewing your stats, it doesn't always update.
For some reason a recharge often works.
Had the same issue today at lunch, my Kinetic Capsule wasn't updating as expected, and took several recharges, for it to sync.
As this is a significant issue, I might raise this as a ticket. My Kinetic Capsule said I had walked 8.0km/8km, but didn't register completion until I had walked another 200m, recharging to Force Sync
@NianticBrian Can we please get lower price of all items items we must have for craft to 1 VR items. 3 rare multihack for 1 VR multihack are very high. Please give us lower items we must use for all VR items with Kinetic capsule.
Lots of agents on Telegram talk about the high price of items we must use for 1 VR item.
The reason the cost is high is to prevent abuse. You don't want bots running around all day crafting VR items. The purpose is to give agents who don't hack a ton a chance at having more VR items than they would. Those who hack a lot usually don't have issues getting them either. The cost is perfectly justifiable.
Not cheap now. I hope @NianticBrian can test and see of lower price say 1 rare multihack or 1 linkamp when we craft for VR multihack and SoftBank. Lots of agents talk and say only Softbank now worth the price.
Not worth craft other items when we lost 3 rare multihack only for for 1 VR multihack.

Love the ability to craft hypercubes, without charging with XM. The new recharge regime is killing my supply.

We get some cool animation and sound when we get the item? Pokémon GO have animation and sound when egg hatch in Pokémon GO.

I think there is some kind of delay, the game by itself is not taking the measurements yet.it's trscking from other games

Anything where we "must" do something... is bad.

The difference in recorded distance is making me think this was how the hexalthon distance was most likely tracked.
Adventure Sync is not yet enabled. This is expected behavior. You must have Prime open to gain credit.
Ingress like all niantic games has syncing issues.
Forgive me, but you did not say if you did a "force Sync" by way of a recharge?
I typically get sync issues with sojourner not ticking over, a few recharges may need to occur before a full sync is done.

I was literally playing. Deploying, Glyph Hacking, Linking, Recharging damaged portals, attacking enemy ones.
