Portal nominations

I’m getting upset because I nominate portals that are rejected, only to have them go live in the game months later under “unknown “ owner. What’s up with that?

Probably a PoGo player came along and submitted the same thing. There's an art to getting things past reviewers these days and you really have to pay attention to the details you provide with a submission.

The Wayfarer forum is a better place for this discussion: https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/

“unknown “ owner is a POI made by a pokemon go player.

Maybe they are just better a making description / support text?

Do you have screenshots of your submission picture / title / description / support text and some of those which were accepted ?

Wayfarer stuff should be posted on Wayfarer Forums.

That being said, I would say that your subs are intentionally being rejected so you don't get any credit for them, and later submitted from PoGO so you don't have the chance to get it.

This is the abuse we have being yelling about all this years, even from OPR times. Only difference is that earlier you could at least know who was doing it because the name was displayed since you could only submit through scanner. Now you don't even get to know who.

Bet you the POI's being added months later have a very similar picture to that what you submitted...

  • You could be in one of those regions where PoGo players reject anything not posted by their "crew", and accept each other's submissions with minimal review.

If this is a pattern then there are two systemic possibilities:

    #1: You aren't making solid, well-polished submissions

#2: As @Perringaiden said, you may be in an area with a PoGo cabal that is colluding to make their own rules.

That second one is becoming increasingly problematic based on reports that I've heard. One way to test for that: If you upgrade the submission is it more likely to be accepted?

But as long as the portal shows up why caring about who created it ?

People deserves credit for their effort. I find you logic poor and oportunistic.

Ingress players get 500 1000AP (Thanks @Khatre below) and a key as a reward for creating a portal.

    it's 1k ap.

    500ap is for portal picture.

But i still would like to see OP nomination vs pogo one.

His was just not as good ?

  • This has happened to me a couple of times. No big deal. If I want my name on the portal, I submit a picture and upvote it. If I want the 1000 AP, I deploy a portal (but not fully), and if I want the portal key, I hack it.

  • I’d say 8 out of 10 portals that I nominate get rejected for reasons that have no basis. 6 of the 8 portals that are rejected become live, using my picture and an unknown pogo player gets credit. Now, one of the two portals that get approved under my agent name, is used for another Niantic game, that’s not Ingress! I know how to submit a solid nomination. I’m frustrated because my nominations are being stolen
