Idea for anti cheating function.
How about, whenever you drop a capsule, you lose 1 AP point?
The AP loss would be minimal, (one tap recharge would regain it), but it would allow us to ID backpack accounts much more easily.
All those accounts with 0 AP change but actively used for hacking and dropping gear would be much more apparent.
(Not my idea - but I think it's a good one to implement).

1-2 Level 1 glyph hacks will be enough, don't think cheaters can't glyph.
One single simple hack on an enemy portal and there you go, 100 capsule drops available.
Not very useful as a countermeasure.
Yes but AP figure will change. Sure you can fiddle till you are back at original AP level so it appears unchanged, during that period your AP will still be different to baseline.
A tap charge gives 65AP, 65 capsule drops.
Glyph hacking gives you 50AP? Yes, people could fiddle, but I think the idea is still worthwhile and it increases the chance of catching people.
Well, I don't see how, specially when any glyph hack can place a random number on the counter. Any successful L1 glyph would undercover any activity.
Well if you want people to stop doing this 1 AP it's ridiculous. Or you make it like 1M AP or this won't work.
Of course if you down grade a level will be a thing
You don't seem to understand. 1 AP loss every time you drop a capsule.
The aim is to look at AP change on accounts whose AP never changes. (ie only hack their own faction portals).
These accounts appear inactive. If you then drop a capsule, your AP drops by 1 and becomes noticed.
To make it appear to be unchanged again, you would have to tap charge, (65AP) and then drop 64 more capsules. This would be noticed more often than not.
Even if not noticed, how often are you going to do this to appear inactive or before you **** up?
just glyphing 1 portal would make this useless.
10k ap every drop, can drop capsule if at least not 10k over current level base.
then it would meant something
How would glyph hacking 1 portal make this useless?
Thats between 78 and 178 AP which reads as an AP change to me.
Ok, I see, this is intended for inactive accounts ONLY.
But any backpack can be created and leveled up just glyph hacking any couch, how are you going to check an account whose IGN you don't know?
And even if you did, this would need to work a functional penalization system, which we don't have either.
I still think this would be of no use, fellow agent.
Yet another "Let us be the police" ideas that simply help you vilify people.
Wives/friends with an account holding gear, are not against the rules, yet this sort of thing would have them constantly reported as backpacks etc. While this would have minimal effect on actual players, all it would change is that people with backpacks would hack the odd enemy faction portal or glyph hack for odd AP values, so their AP slowly rises.
Once they provide an option for increased storage, the pressure on inventory management will be reduced, but this is an extreme problem for a tiny issue.
If you want an easy way to cut down on people cheating, make it so quantums only work if you perform XYZ action(s) per day, all of which require a COMM message to show on the map. Simple, lets the community see who is "actively" generating gear.
If you are Level 16 with exactly 40,000,000 AP and you drop a capsule, would you become Level 15 again?
regress to l15 to l16 then l15 etc.
infinite level up gift package and vr mods 🤣
Haha. Didnt think of that one.
That seems fun. If you mess up the L16 screenshot, you can just do it over again. I'm all for this idea. 😆
Well, if you could make level up a one way gate, it would still work :)
