Yeah and then you have to wait another 10-15 seconds for portals to load. This only made things worse.
My only complaint is you hear less of the Duel of the Fates intro, but I can live with that. 😊

damn. resonator deploying within 5-8 secs..
I checked on all my devices. Now it is simply impossible to play, I have to wait for several seconds before each action! Bravo Niantic ahah
This has been happening on and off all through the pandemic, because they're working on streamlining the servers and rolling out new changes while the active population is low.
