Upgrading to level 8

I know players from resistance and from enlightenment using Jarvis and Ada to upgrade portals, how can I report. I don't have screenshots.

  • Why do you want to report?

  • Using JARVIS Virus and ADA Refactors to upgrade a portal isn't cheating, unless two people from different teams are doing it together.

do u mean both teams flips the same portals to upgrade them ?

There is a report button in the app: Settings, scroll down to Help Center.

As far as I know, aiding the opposition is no longer cheating. You'll get a boilerplate email from Lambert and that will be the end of this story.

doubt much will happen... we have a local player that attacked another agent from my team 1 week ago physical punched to the throat.. nothing has been banned agent is still playing so i doubt niantic will do much for win trading if physical violence nothing is being done and that to me is alot more serious getting attacked physical and agent dont get banned... the logic in that ? :(

  • No, it still falls under cheating. The fact that it isn't explicitly called out, is because people kept reporting anything that even mildly looked like a green player benefiting a blue player or vice versa.

Clear win-trading is still cheating as was pointed out in AMA's repeatedly.

What even is clear win trading anymore? Niantic needs to update their policy to reinstate a clearly defined clause for win trading.

Let me use this opportunity to reiterate a case. For two months in a row, players in my country have been abusing the ambiguities of IFS by gathering in secret to win trade in locations hundreds of miles away from where they registered and well over five hours after the stats measuring time was supposed to end.

The participants were ENL agents and their cohorts who recursed to RES in order to game the system. 15 agents farmed over 25 million AP by deploying resonators for seven hours while their counterparts destroyed them. I didn't bother to count the medals they earned using this method.

They're going for round three in September. ENL agents dare not speak out because the win traders are community managers and influential players. In the absence of a stipulation in the Terms of Service, this sort of abuse will go on.

What even is clear win trading anymore?

You deploy an R1, I destroy it, deploy and R1 and you destroy it. Repeat for 4 hours.

Two teams leveling up portals with flipcards together is win trading and yes should be reported.

Reported, yes. Punished, no. I can tell you that the reports were organized, thorough, and sizable.

The lack of enforcement only emboldens the win traders. I was beginning to think win trading is sanctioned gameplay.

Why is physical violence reported to a gaming company and not the local authorities?

have the player banned maybe ? yes it has been filed report and i hope niantic bans such.. was just a reference that why should niantic care about win trading if agents that physical attack others dont get banned? its against the tos yet nothing happens..... i sure dont want players that goes physical thats just psycho warning and those should be banned permanent.

  • The logic in that is Niantic isn’t law enforcement. Agent who was assaulted needs to fill out a police report.

  • If you say that players using ADA or Jarvis and ending up with a higher level portal is cheating - then you need to determine exact time spans.

If I flip a portal - for how long in minutes or hours is no player of the opposing faction “allowed” to upgrade or interact with it? 10min? 30min? Until immunity runs out? 6h? 1 day? If those actions are considered cheating - then you will need to set very clear times and rules. Because otherwise you get hundreds of false positive claims.

For example. Player A lives in a vilage with 40 portals. All linked, shielded etc. An opponent B comes for a visit. Player A flips his P7 couch to protect it. How can you prohibit player B to upgrade the P7 farm to get extra xmp to flatten the other portals? Is Player B only allowed to hack the flipped portal without upgrades? Or is he only allowed to upgrade if he waits at least 1h to then flip back and destroys?

Because otherwise you could argue that he “cheated” as you described above. You will very prescriptive rules on how players MUST play to avoid false positives. And that would be the opposite of free play.

I am against classic win trading P1 - xmp etc apart from FS events where it is sanctioned. But if you start throwing in using ada or jarvis use - you open the bottomless pit. Because with tens of thousand players worldwide there are thousands of different scenarios which are fully legit, but would be considered cheating under your opinion.

If one person punched another that's not Nia task(even if you show them medical and police reports),that should be reported directly to police.

If two opponents making L8,report them and go smash that Portal. Or...look on intel(iitc is better but prohibited) about timeout of flipping. Use L1 ultra to move mods out without alert, push there two(or,if you have teammates, four) linkamps and flip to your colour. Or tell opposite members and act against that person together. I think linkamps are proper mods :)))
