Itemlimit 2000

itemlimit 2000 becomes more of a tragedy with each passing day

2,000 items even with key lockers isn't enough.

    Problem is striking a balance.

Apparently that balance went out the window for Pogo, HPWU where the absolute max limit seemingly has no end.

Many of us will be happy to pay a small subscription fee if it meant just 300 - 500 more items in our general inventory

  • I’d happily buy storage lockers from the Store if they worked like the Key Lockers. I find myself having to recycle so many items every day so just I can Hack. Like someone else said, upping the storage by 500/1000 will only help for a limited time then we’d want more and more and it’ll be like PoGo where the storage just no longer matters

If they decide to remove item drop (and find a new way to transfer key) a bigger inventory will be really useful.

I think that starting with 1000 and unlocking 2000 with level up would be a good idea, and let it be bought in portions (like in pgo hPWU) up to 3000.

paying for higher inventory with your wallet is not the key to this games success.....

Pogo begs and gets what they beg for, folks just think that Niantic would do the same for Ingress.

Purchased power ups shouldn't count towards your current inventory. Plain and simple. Niantic wants to make money, why not allow people to stock up on paid special items without it counting against your current inventory?

Exactly my reasoning for a CMU locker. I'd buy more if I could hold more.

True the developers of those other games are listening more closely to player feedback and implementing changes in response, but I suspect that's more in part due to them being newer games. And our ability to have their ear is quickly dwindling in those games too. When Fazes left WB a few months back, we lost our primary conduit for gameplay feedback, and pretty much the only way to get our voices heard is through bug reports on the forum. Problem is, when we find a gameplay imbalance issue that we want to voice, it's not really considered a bug and gets low priority.

Back to Ingress, where we know that virtually all player feedback falls on deaf ears at this point, many of us have been calling for years for things like media and souvenir key lockers. Over the years, I've accumulated hundreds of keys from unique and distant places, and that represents a significant h a n d i c a p (why is that word censored? 🙄) on my inventory. Do I use the 600 space in key lockers for strategic keys, or for the vacation souvenirs? Early on in game, that wasn't an issue. These days I have to make tradeoffs, and am almost always inventory capped.

  • keeping obsolete things like 2000 item limit is part of the reason why game is failing so badly. every new idea gets killed by backlash fast. when they tried to sell XMP8s community was against that. this monetizxation way is also refused. when they sell anomaly tickets, community complains again.

thing is, limit of 2000 items made sense when there were much less portals, and much less item types. nowadays wast majority of players that still play game have several backpack accounts (either backed by real person who does not care about game at all, or by his alter ego), that are storing items, to make game playeable. nowadays portal density is much higher which means, to reasonoably play, I need more resonators. but that is changing fun of game too much (I cannot hack portals, due to be full most of the time).

also there is totaly stupid stuff like 6th key locker, which is unavalable to any new player. and if inventory management is so important, its uncacceptable. players should not have such a big advantage just caused by them playing at right time.

2000 inv back then 2012-2014 made sense, but today? it feels kinda low yeah.... they could maybe sell a special locker to put items max 100 or something that dont take up space so u can have some extra gear when u need, same with media capsules.. how many years have community begged for this ??

The game just need a media locker.

    2k limit is fine

  • Management is still going to happen at 4000 items. The primary difference with the increase would be reduction in the "Travel" part of the game. Less time spent going back to your P8 farm to get bursters and/or resonators and cubes.

I agree that 2000 isn't enough (or 2500 with lockers) . So yes i want more, but not with a subscription... Just a onetime payment like keylockers. Let's say 250 or 500 extra, with an extra 250 or 500 after x time (if i'm not wrong it also happens like this in PoGo).

I think the subscripted can have an extra inventory too, but I'm more in favor to slowly buy the upgrades in a permanent way (like key locker). Let's say the subscription give you 1000+ instantly while you're paying for it, but "free" players can still buy up to his same amount slowly, grjnding it up to the same amount of inventory. Not forgetting that subscription should have a lot more advantage than just extra slots.

I also like system they build for the Harry Potter game, witch different categories of items and you expand it separately as you wish to fit your gameplay style. That would be help in ingress, allowing us to increase th category we need more instead of all of it. And each category could have different prices, likes xmp slots costing more than media slots.

2000 inventory is fine. Does it force action, yes. Does it force hard decisions, yes. Does it force you to look for attack and building opportunities, yes.

Point is 2000 is a good number. The only thing that might move it is recursing. Could it be used as a bonus for additional 100-250 items?

  • mortuusmortuus ✭✭✭✭✭

I agree, paid items that cant be dropped should NOT take up your inv space.

  • HydracyanHydracyan ✭✭✭✭✭

    "Fine" isn't ideal.

2k was more than enough 5 years ago, but is just fine now. We got a lot of new items since them, but the inventory didn't change.

Few tweaks are greatly welcome and will improve that, like not counting the powerups (at least 100) and the so desired media capsule. Allowing players to buy more keylockers are also greatly welcome.

The idea of a subscription service for more space isn’t popular, I’m cool with it as I’d happily chip in to pay for something that brings me a lot of joy and gets me out.

Some more space would shake up the meta and kit ratios, but it would help make larger ops more viable, and day trips more fun, without the need to restock halfway through.

2,000 items + lockers means people have to be in control of their inventory, and mindful of what they have, and what they will need for anything they intend to do.

  • The idea of a subscription service for more space isn’t popular,

It's the primary thing people are chomping at the bit to pay for a subscription FOR.

No idea who your survey group is, but inventory space is something everyone wants more of, whether subscription based or CMU payments.
