Can you suggest your friend to try accessing Ingress Community on a different browser or on an incognito? Also, please ensure that they're using the right email address while logging in. If this doesn't work, please ask them to contact us inapp or on Twitter (@Niantichelp) for us to get their account information and to take a closer look!

Hi @NianticKN same issue here.
Issue occurred after I added a gmail to my google account.
This changes the sign-in email adress to whatever gmail you've created from whatever e-mail account you had hooked up to your google account before. This is likely the issue, Niantic services can't deal with changing e-mail adresses that may or may not be associated with the Google account. If you do the opposite and remove gmail from your google account things like attack notifications stop working.
I now have to use facebook to sign in, which is less then Ideal as i'm looking to get rid of facebook.
Users can't fix this themselves as far as I can tell. I've tried unlinking and re-linking my Google account.
