Re: A Machina Report – Introducing the new "Reclaimer” Medal [Discussion]
I find it sad that machina cannot cross link or take portals under fields anymore.
Felt like a welcome help for the weaker fraction in the area. Now it kinda helps the stronger fraction in the city...
I don't get why they always make the stronger fraction even stronger while trying to punish those fractions with less people in the area.
Rainbow XM plagues our vision
It is that time of year again.
I support the LGBTQ+ movement.
But can you please stop taking away our view with Rainbow XM?
We should not have to make choices that make us all unhappy.
This Rainbow XM takes away the visibility of the portal itself.
I think this has been said for a long time.
Instead, we would be happier to sell new beacons like the BLM beacons and have Niantic donate to this campaign organization for each sale and number of beacons used.
Also, the Prime scanner is consistently flawed with very poor visibility.
The portal description is the worst visibility - dark purple on a black screen.
Even if you play a mission and come across a great portal, no one will read the description with this low visibility.
In a way, this has led to a significant decline in the quality of portals in recent years.
Maybe it will be another year, but this time please provide an alternative other than Rainbow XM that will take away everyone's visibility.
Re: Key multiplication feature
I have absolutely no problem with key duping in Quantums going away. The ability to make hundreds or thousands of extra keys to hard-to-reach portals with little to no effort makes using up those keys way too easy.
But making a kinetic program for keys is a very different thing than just having them in a Quantum/MUFG. You have to walk to get the kinetic to work. My guess is you would only be able to duplicate one key at a time and it would cost you items to make the dupe happen. Those items could be hard to get items like VR shields, or SBULAs making duping an expensive proposition.
We lost the ability to make VR items in Quantums long ago but got the ability to make those items at a cost in a Kinetic.
I think key duping should take the same route the only question being how costly should it be to make it happen?
Pokemon Go posts in Ingress Official - Campfire
There have been quite a few Pokemon Go players posting for raids and exchanging friend codes in the Ingress Official community in Campfire. Although this might be a way to introduce Ingress to these players, it is causing a lot of friction between users. Are there any plans to separate the open game communities in Campfire?
Re: Niantic should really lower the limit for speed lock (Why is it as high as 60kmph?)
My spouse prefers to drive, and I prefer to let him. While I ride, I mess with music, read the news, look out the window, play games, text friends, check social media. Who are you to say what I can and can't do? I'm not breaking any laws.
Millions of people ride mass transit to work. They shouldn't be able to do anything because some rural people can't obey the law?
If you're sure they're driving dangerously, report them to your police. Maybe they can pull traffic cameras and verify traffic violations. Encourage your police to do phone checks at places where offending drivers go through. Sponsor a traffic camera.
But maybe you're sour grapes, not even sure they're driving.
Re: Niantic should really lower the limit for speed lock (Why is it as high as 60kmph?)
There is absolutely a "don't drive while playing ingress" warning. It's one of the random ones you get on launch. There is NOT a mid-play warning like Peridot or PoGo.
And if the user decides to disobey the law, regardless if Niantic gives a warning or not, it's still their conscious decision and Niantic would never be liable.
Many other mobile games, regardless if they're geolocation-based or not, don't have these warning and aren't liable if the Driver is choosing to distracted drive while playing their game.
Re: Niantic should really lower the limit for speed lock (Why is it as high as 60kmph?)
Bit difficult to tell bus drivers, and trains to slow down
Re: Niantic should really lower the limit for speed lock (Why is it as high as 60kmph?)
Playing Ingress on public transport is one of the funnest and best times to play. Lowering speed lock would ruin a lot of fun times.
