Re: Machina is just killing player engagement.
Iam not sure niantic still wants you to create boring big field. Look over the changes of the past:
- linking under fields now possible, with big fields you cannot prevent other players from creating fields.
- Hack time increased = you get keys slower
- cant duplicate keys = less keys
- no secound 7lvl resi = weaker portals
Maybe the game is now different and we have to adapt.
Machina is just killing player engagement.
So, if I wanted to go throw some casual fields I no longer can.
Even moderate size urban fields are requiring hour plus clearing time due to Machina.
If I do, then an enemy player kills the field, Machina rapidly starts adding blockers.
What used to be fun, casual play now is becoming a moderate op every time.
Others on the team are expressing similar thoughts. Machina just sucks the fun out of the game, fighting a bot is just not engaging.
Re: Agent Academy Podcast
Love the podcast! Makes my Tuesday morning fielding in the AZ heat so much more enjoyable!
Apex recycle
As we can't recycle our own Apex, can you, Niantic, remove them from my inventory?
I do not want to use them and they are taking up a lot of inventory space.
Re: Niantic has “organisational update”, closes NBA All-World. No mention of Ingress at all
That's an event schedule....
What is a project roadmap?
A project roadmap is a high-level overview of your project deliverables, key milestones, and overall project goals. It should be the first thing you create when you get started on a project. With your project roadmap as a jumping-off point, you can create other important project planning documents, like a project plan and a project schedule.
Re: VANGARD assistance needed Corruption in the UK
Correction: America removed the 'u's. Not the English putting them in randomly. There's a reason why the language is called English.
Re: Key multiplication feature
Simple win option is available for Niantic here.
New kcap recipe that uses 1 original key and whatever other gear, to generate 3 keys. Since its nearly impossible to hack a kcap, but you can buy them for 2k cmu each. It's obvious. It's a way to monetize Ingress. I mean they are selling 100 packs of L8 xmps in the store. Why not sell the ability to duplicate keys?
Re: Niantic has “organisational update”, closes NBA All-World. No mention of Ingress at all
The classic "Business Plan" talked about by Niantic staff was always that Hanke wanted Niantic to become the platform everyone else used, rather than being a games company themselves. People would build games on Lightship and Niantic would provide the backbone as a service, PaaS style.
The announcement indicates they've realized that this won't work because IP owning companies aren't trying to develop long running games, just cash in on a craze then dump the game.
I personally think is a good plan to invest in what Niantic has already shown works. Niantic building the game, monetizing it, then keeping it updated for a loyal fan base.
Hopefully (and yes this is wishful thinking) this will mean that Niantic invests more in their original game, and actually puts the Dev time into building it back out into a fully fledged IP.
Either that or builds a new game with proper revenue streams built in, using the Ingress principles, that we can all move to.
