Re: Machina is just killing player engagement.
This is the main issue...
For some, clearing Machina is a part of playing Ingress
For others, clearing Machina is a chore you need to do before you can play Ingress
Re: Machina is just killing player engagement.
Who has (or takes) 2-5 hours to play Ingress anymore, let alone spending time clearing red before you can play?
Re: Machina is just killing player engagement.
Niantic must balance out machina how it works it shouldnt drive players out from playing
Re: [Discussion] Shared AR for Web Challenge
8thWall and Ingress teams merging?
Or something else.
Either way, I am intrigued with what may be coming

Sorry it has taken me so long to get involved in the Conservation.
As a Canadian we have some nice protections against False and Misleading Representation in False or Misleading Representations and Deceptive Marketing Practices https://ised-isde.canada.ca/site/competition-bureau-canada/en/deceptive-marketing-practices/types-deceptive-marketing-practices/false-or-misleading-representations-and-deceptive-marketing-practices
So before I commented I wanted to have time to actually look into it.
I applied the CMU value for everything in CORE Giving a CMU value of just 1 to ITO's and Softbanks because they can't be purchased, AND because I'm giving Niantic the best case scenario for their claim of 4X value from Current CORE to Future CORE
With this the math stacks up that CORE as it stands now has a monthly value of 23503 CMU, or 47 CMU per penny. The Proposed CORE value moves to 31003 CMU or 39 CMU per penny.
What we have seen is an increase in CMU value by 32% but a decrease in CMU to penny value of 38%
So Niantic is likely participating in False or Misleading Representations and Deceptive Marketing Practices.

Re: Niantic has “organisational update”, closes NBA All-World. No mention of Ingress at all
They keep launching games that steal their paying customers from one game to the other game. They aren't expanding, they are just getting their own user base across multiple games.
"I have made the decision to narrow our focus for mobile game investments, concentrating on first party games that most strongly embody our core values of location and local social communities. " -- Besides Ingress being something they actually own themselves, its their "core values".
"Specifically, this means we will be closing our LA studio, reducing our game platform team and making additional reductions across the company. As a result, we will be sunsetting NBA All-World and stopping production on Marvel: World of Heroes. This means we are laying off around 230 Niantics."
"Why are we making this change?"
"The answer is straightforward – we have allowed our expenses to grow faster than revenue."
The Why Did this happen part is semi amusing. Maybe not pissing off your Cash Machine game players by upping prices?
"The top priority is to keep Pokémon GO healthy and growing as a forever game. While we made some adjustments to the Pokémon GO team, our investment in the product and team continues to grow."
blah blah blah
We spent too much money too quickly, didn't have the revenue to support it. e
Re: C.O.R.E. Subscription Price Change [Discussion]
My complaint is that I don’t want half the gear in the load out. I want to exchange the ITO, SBUL, Battle Beacon, R8, X8 for more K-Capsules and Cubes. Each player should be able to select from a short list of load out options.
Also, at $7.99, I expect an extra 300 inventory slots…
Re: C.O.R.E. Subscription Price Change [Discussion]
Ah yes, because a multi-million dollar company can't handle inflation, but us average joes that barely scrape by can. More CMU for it, sure that's great...but it hardly helps people that just don't have much money.
Re: Update on Game Latency, Missing Wayspots, and the Roadmap
Deploy lag has been very bad the last days, really frustrating when its not summer anymore and temps starting to reach under 12c. Many times stuck deploy resonators and by the time lag passed u drifted away from the portal it shouldnt take sometimes 1 minute to deploy 8 resonators....
I canceled my core a few months ago and i dont see any reason start it again.

Thank for the background. As an avid unique hunter this was a very welcome feature.
