Re: C.O.R.E. Subscription Price Change [Discussion]
The current price per month in eur is 5,49 Euros. The new price at September apear in google play as 9.99 Euros. Already canceled.
Re: After all, what is the function of Machina?
That assumption is ridicoulous. Have you ever played in a mountain area? Or in a more rural area?
Re: C.O.R.E. Subscription Price Change [Discussion]
I have become a less and less frequent player as anomalies have become less and less of a big deal. While I had a core subscription for the rare times I boot this game up, the price change was enough of a push to make me just cancel it. If I ever start playing again, I'm likely to subscribe even at this cost, as it is not terribly high. But this change in cost shifts it from a "well I'll keep it around" to "i will cancel and renew one month at a time, immediately cancelling right after I sign up so it doesn't keep going."
Another similar subscription I had until recently is Fallout 1st, and that was $99 for 12 months which is a third off of month to month. I would probably buy core again as a lump if it were available with such a discount.
I will also say that the increase in p2w elements was a factor in decreasing how much I want to play. I don't care much about p2w when it comes to anomalies because I don't think it is an enormous factor there (no one at anomaly is short of gear if they are even mildly involved,) but I was even at the height of anomaly play pretty much checked out from the day to day and the increase in CMU for day to day items does not help me feel enthusiastic.
Re: Machina Decay
IMHO:
The ratio machina to res/enl portals is very out of balance, there is hardly any decay, and also spawns underneath fields, so no way to control the spread. It kills the game for regular agents, and for agents that love to field. Inaccessable portals become machina owned, and not much you can do about it. At least Machina should have equal or less portals the enl/res combined. Also, there should be a way to control the spread, if you field for instance, the machina portals should decay, and no new ones should appear.
Also, I can't find a rationale behind the introduction of machina, the numbers machina vs res/enl are way of, and there is no gain in killing machina portals, other then a badge.
Re: C.O.R.E. Subscription Price Change [Discussion]
£7.99 in USD is $10.19 (as of today's rate - and I highly doubt that figure will be hugely different by the end of August.).
U.S players will be paying $7.99 for their C.O.R.E sub going forward, that will be costing me (and other UK subscribers) the equivalent of $10+.
The new C.O.R.E price in Europe of €9.99 is equivalent to $10.96 (as of today). Nearly $3 more that U.S players will be forking out.
How is that 'fair' ?
There seriously seems to be something badly amiss with the exchange rate calculations.
I can understand a small % difference for exchange rates, but not (in many cases) a 20%+ difference!
I know some on here will try to continually defend NIA and/or Google/Apple no matter what. Even if they are being ripped off in the process.
Re: C.O.R.E. Subscription Price Change [Discussion]
Agreed. I can pay $7,99, but I'm not going to pay $11. 38% more.
Re: C.O.R.E. Subscription Price Change [Discussion]
In fact, it would be preferable to be settled in US dollars instead of the local currency, and if at all possible, Niantic should have its own store.
Re: MACHINA ruined my game
Everyone is failing to understand that with Machina the gameplay means that players have to to adapt, rather than keep going with the same ol' game plan, that most players don't bother with.
Machina enables more varied local play than there had been in a very long time.
But it is just one piece.
Please be patient for when Agent Ops Task System comes out.
It will enable more varied play to a wider group of people, as enabling the Ingress team to automate events better.
Some will argue that they don't want to play Ingress PvE. If you do not have much opposition, then PvE is the only option.
We're still waiting for @NianticThia and Niantic Corp to advertise Ingress properly and effectively to bring on new players rather than Ingress be for us OG players.
Re: MACHINA ruined my game
If you want to play, you’ll need to start thinking about machina as another faction (they are) and not just Niantic. Plan a field and then take out the links required to throw it. Would this be any different if those were blue/green instead of red? You don’t have to clear all of the machina to play. Go **** 5-10 portals and then build your fields and then keep them alive.
I get that your used to having no competition, so you can field without hassle, but now you have someone new in town who also wants to play. Act accordingly…
that being said, not a huge fan of machina myself :/ It’s just what Niantic has given us. I wouldn’t blame anyone for finding other things to do with their time with such a major change in gameplay…
