Re: A dictatorship of a select few who don't care about our opinion.
Nah, you're annoying. You refuse to listen to what anybody says, even with Niantic on some of these posts. You bring up the same things and refuse listening to any criticism. It's talking to a wall when it comes to you. Maybe you should evaluate your attitude and be self aware of it before seeking anything from your faction.
Re: [Chatter] What Portal do you feel best represents your town/country?
The hare and the hedgehog ( Hase und Igel ) is an old story written down by Brothers Grimm, Playing in the real existing German City called Buxtehude. The Town is full of this figures and Portals of historic persons.

Re: Give us back cyberpunk and real spirit of ingress!
Can't we just replace Brian Rose and team with ChatGPT?
At this point, it could do a more robust job at community engagement, big fixes, etc.
Re: Machina is just killing player engagement.
Say what you want - in actual talking conversations, with multiple people, from multiple cities, the red plague is majorly discouraging play. What used to be fairly fun ops now requires multiple hours of clearing against, a bot. I the end, most just cannot be bothered.
Re: Give us back cyberpunk and real spirit of ingress!
What would be in a revived ingress report?
"Another 300 agents canceled their core subscriptions this week due to price increase"
"the game map is even more of a machina wasteland"
"still no community manager"
"still no marketing of ingress by niantic"
Re: Give us back cyberpunk and real spirit of ingress!
I really like those AI images, very cyberpunk.
Very cool
Ingress went downhill ever since the Ingress Report was cancelled.
Re: MACHINA ruined my game
Mhhmmm. Fanboi take a rest. You keep talking about Machina gameplay and players adapting. Are you adapting to it? I looked at your area on intel and I don't see it. I see red 8s right by your blue 8s.
Machina means you either have to keep your entire area captured, or spend a ton of time driving around to clean it up. You yourself have stated you don't have a very high density of portals. Many of us who complain about Machina have high density. I'd rather enjoy going out and fielding somewhere vs spending hours cleaning up Machina so I can field. If you don't like making triangles, that's great. You do you. Some of us do enjoy making them. Big or small.
Agent Ops Task System -- pbbbbt They test drove it. But it obviously didn't work well. I know a handful of users who couldn't get it to recognize km traveled, so they didn't get their badges for whatever that event was. Most of them don't play currently. So, great system there. Excellent job with player retention!
PvE - I see a TON of red in your area. Lots of active agents. Are your locals even going after the red portals? Are you even going after any of that red? I mean there are red 8s right next to your blue 8s. hmmm...
We have been waiting for YEARS for someone from Niantic to actually advertise the game again. Most have given up on that pipe dream.
Re: MACHINA ruined my game
Those who disagree to this problem, can you please tell me how you find MACHINA a good addition? How has it added to your gaming experience in a good way? And even though you may enjoy MACHINA, can you perhaps see how it is not at all a good thing for all players?
Give us back cyberpunk and real spirit of ingress!
I remember ingress 10 years ago. We, a group of secret agents, fought for control of the world, while protecting humanity from villains from the opposite faction. Regularly there were reports in the ingress reports, regularly there was a plot that would be the envy of any science fiction series, and we were participants in it all! I felt like an agent, a cyberpunk scent hovered in the scanner with:
- Advanced technologies;
- covert operations
- An active struggle of factions for dominance over the world
- Battle of large corporations
- The impact of artificial intelligence on the fate of people.
- The use of various new weapons and advanced protective technologies.
- And much more
We were going on regular forays into the city, we fought with rivals and we had fun! Most of our guys had a sporty and fit look.
But now all this is gone! Events turned into regular and monotonous gatherings over a glass of beer, and the agents themselves often acquired beer bellies, a bunch of health problems and a dull, depressing look at the game.
The game has become monotonous and predictable, but most importantly lost its charm and atmosphere. I no longer feel like an agent, and I no longer see a goal to fight! Everything for which we loved ingress was forgotten, destroyed and broken! Instead, we have the first Saturday and the second Sunday! The scanner hasn't received a major update in a long time, and accordingly it has become boring for most agents! The car added to the game simply became angry for many.
I don't know what else to add. Bring back cyberpunk, atmosphere, proper design, and so on. The modern scanner is just like the neon sign of the old pub, where agents gather every first Saturday after completing missions.
Why does any neural network understand better than game developers what ingress is?
No guys, I'm not older, I'm still young at heart. This ingress has become different. It has become stale, moldy and rotted in some places, so fellow developers make it the same as before, lively, interactive, cheerful and interesting. And most importantly, unpredictable, as it was before.
Re: What should niantic do to make ingress a "forever" game
I'm fully aware and appreciate that (game) development is hard and has challenges that we as players cannot see.
That being said, I can't fully understand why there are next to no events outside of the regular monthly ones. The current Level 8 Week event has brought out a lot of people again and has seemingly raised the mood of agents. I'm pretty sure with more events, Ingress will be more lively.
Again, there may be factors that we as players can't see, but it doesn't feel like modifying some values for a week each month is that hard. (And if a dev from Niantic sees this and this isn't the case, sorry and good luck 🙈)
