This is getting ridiculous
So yesterday we (RES) cleared a path and made a bunch of fields in our area (marked as the purple line in the att image). Great teamwork and a bit of MU for the team.
Late last night an ENL player took the anchor and later threw two blocking links (1 and 2 on image). This morning Machina decided that it wanted to helt block the reuse of the anchors and threw SIX blocking links.
This means that we are not only playing against ENL, but both of the factions and we need to use quite a bit of gas to throw the links again.
This is ridiculous, as Machina is favouring the defenders who don't create anything and it really take the fun out of...you know...ingressing :-)
Re: Would you want to see a Daily Free Pack/Box added to the Ingress store?
"You received:
1x L3 resonator
1x L1 XMP"
Re: Cancel Core until the Machina situation is handled
I spent a little time yesterday typing up a response in another thread about the future of Ingress and what that looks like for new agents. It appears to be a big goal for Brian as I'm sure he would prefer to keep working on Ingress versus the game dying and he has to work on PoGo.
I think machina must be his plan for new agents and in some ways, it does make sense. You download the game, open it up, hopefully get through the on-boarding system and now you look around with your scanner. You see some neutral portals, so you learn about those and then you want to take out some of the "enemy." You find some red portals/links and go to town. In a rural area or low-play area, this works and this new agent can play the game and hopefully get hooked and maybe even sign up for CORE. I don't think it's enough to hook a new player in todays world of mobile gaming, but someone probably does. The problem is, while he has found a way to engage a new agent, he's also alienated the existing userbase who helps pay his light bill.
And that's what I was trying to type in the other thread and never posted. Its 2023 Niantic. We're waiting on you to bring this game up to date, engaging and relevant. Old and new players alike are struggling to find reasons to keep playing this game and all you continue to give us is small doses of hope in the form of a 3D overworld, something we've been helping you create for the better part of 3 years now. You took away global events in hopes we'd be okay with First Saturday and Second Sunday and anomalies only the most dedicated or geographically lucky will attend. Those were fun the first 12 times, but we want engagement, a real reason to open our phones and be excited to play. Triangles are cool, but I'd wager decent amounts of money that triangles are not what's going to keep this game afloat for much more longer. You showed us something resembling tasks, then took it away and went dark on it. This game needs to keep evolving and at a much quicker pace than what we've seen in the past three years.

What does a community specialist do?
Re: STOP MACHINA, totally lost control (again)
Stop suffering, go and fight back against the red faction!
Re: Core Subscription price increase
Thanks for the heads up and feedback :-)
Had a good read of that other topic.
Have just cancelled the subscription, I cant justify the additional cost to the ministry of finance.
She said what are we getting for it and there's not much of an argument to justify keeping it going.
Sad times as I've been paying for core since day 1, like others its been a way to give back to a game I started playing when it was closed beta.
C'est la vie
Re: STOP MACHINA, totally lost control (again)
Please Niantic, get rid of it.
Our enemy faction at home, they remove our Machina blocks and just let the red spread and sit back and laugh.
If machina is not bought under control, this anomaly will probably be my last. Sick of wasting fuel chasing an unsleeping opponent.
Re: STOP MACHINA, totally lost control (again)
Niantic has announced that there will be a slowdown, inventing a story in lore and to justify it, but I hope it will also apply a strong reduction in the portals it currently controls.
in my opinion machina is the biggest fail of NIA applied to ingress, personally I give it time until the Palermo anomaly, after which if machina is still the master of intel I will cancel the game of my mobile phone. I have neither time nor desire to face it, I also spent too much fuel an time on it.
Re: NO, not worth it.
If the 5k active's per day is an accurate number, they don't care and are just milking you till they shut it down.
Re: STOP MACHINA, totally lost control (again)
That's just not true, my city has about 10 to 20 players and the red is out of control because there's just too many portals and ground to cover with very few people (including myself) not wanting to waste the time and effort on clearing something that will be back worse within a week
