Small correction. Total point count would've been 7, split like this:
The screenshots (+ media links) of the lore media are not Tesserae. I assume the rules were chosen this way to have the lore media become public domain, and not have it hidden behind layers of OPSEC.
Unfortunately the rules were not clear. They appeared to say that each faction gets 2 points if they successfully decode their puzzle, plus the first faction to complete both wins an extra point. In addition, the rules do not say you have to post the Tessera; they only mention posting the Project file. So this bit is confusing as well.
The rules state: In short, both Factions will be able to gain 2pts respectively when they complete their starting route.
After solving the baselevel decoding puzzle each faction has a chance of winning 2 points for their Tessera. It's not set in stone. It clearly states: "will be able to gain", and not: "will gain". As it's a livedrop event, the first faction solving the puzzle and claiming the Tessera wins it, as well as being granted the exclusive first-prediction rights.
Let's say for the sake of arguement somebody reads "will be able to gain" as "will gain". Does that imply both factions have equal prediction rights? When talking about normal Tesserae yes, but this is a livedrop event. There is only one winner. The solve times speak for themselves; the outcome wasn't close...
I fully agree with @uditaren 's post. The altering of points for this livedrop event (as well as some others from the past) are a direct effect from constantly changing the rules. Instead of the straight-forward "first to post screenshot + faction text wins", it has evolved in a way that's very obscure and difficult to understand. Like @uditaren and many others choices like this are making me lose interest in the event.
If anything the alteration of points remind me of the Oprah show: "You get points, and you get points, and you all get points!". 🙄
Yes, start giving it at levels 8+, where the real struggle start, needing massive amount of AP to lv up, plus medals.
Giving it for free at lv2 to 8 will just increase the amount not multiaccount and Kamikazes. If the cheaters want to level up faster, at least make them pay for it and generate revenue. There's no struggle for a new player from 1 to 7, it's a easy learning curve already.
...what? How it is supposed to be calculated? Is it even about Ingress?
Good friend you always had nice stories.
Always were in for a laugh and some fun, we will miss seeing your smile.
But will never forget you.
I guided you, brought you into the community, we had a great time together.

I've only met him twice, but he left memories for ever, what an awesome agent this was. I'll be linking the portals we drank at rest in piece Segtisalgoe 💙
Dear Dr.PAC, since I'm an Enlightened agent, I say for only myself and not for my faction 'cause I'm not certain that I can represent the majority:
It's UNFAIR and FOOLISH of T.H. to give Enl the extra points and prediction right of Schubert.
Fair game, fair results. No "mercy" points. I do hope Enl to get more points and finally win, but not in this way. I believe that many agents, no matter their factions, feels awful about this scores added.
What about try to advice T.H. to creat a more sample rule that can "balance" the score rather than to simply add extra points to the Disadvantaged faction after the result comes?
Or are the T.H. really creating chaos and want we two factions to have more battle before the Tessellation ends?
segtisalgoe you will be deeply missed
My Beacon will be lit
Imho this is the result of overcomplicating things. Why do we need to decode, redeem, make screenshots, include media links and all? What's next? Taking videos of ourselves entering the codes while dancing around the table backwards? (While it would be fun to see those videos for sure :D) – I think there are better ways to include more players ;)
I really love the idea of combining mass/lore knowledge and decoding to bring folks together, but: Please, be a bit more straightforward with the rules: If it's a drop challenge, whoever posts it first wins. If it's a decoding challenge just look into the database who redeemed it first. Simple as that.
Personally I begin to lose interest to continue participating in the tesselation event, if the rules continue to become more and more obscure. Many of us are putting a lot of time and effort into this, so it would be cool, if at least the parameters for winning the thing would be unambiguously set in advance.
You where there when we began. Always there for advice and tips. We've had some good times. Next Jup will be toasted to you my friend.
I will miss you
