Re: STOP MACHINA, totally lost control (again)
That list of "no players" area grows with Machina though. So it's a self-fulfilling prophecy. People don't want to play with Machina, Machina grows, people want to play with it less. There's no way a player can strategically affect it, because it constantly just respawns like a deathmatch where you get 1 life, and the opponent has unlimited.
Re: STOP MACHINA, totally lost control (again)
I've been playing vs machina for the past 2 weeks, unlike most agents who refuse to touch it, and I can say I've had absolutely zero satisfaction from playing against it, I've used around 4000 bursters which I've had to hack, I've had zero Opposition which is normally what happens when trying to field, and I've used alot of fuel going to places I wouldn't normally need to, myself i have alot of free time but alot of people don't even have the time or the portals to hack for kit to take on the bot. In short, this machina suites maybe 5% of the player base and everyone else (if you have no car and not much free time) forget it.
Re: STOP MACHINA, totally lost control (again)
Maybe machina really is possible endgame for the ingress lore🤔
Re: STOP MACHINA, totally lost control (again)
Machina no longer cross links, this means you can box it in and take control back.
Agents also report that Machina doesn't spread very well under a field of any size. 😉
Re: Cancel Core until the Machina situation is handled
The problem is the Machina linking which does not add anything but misery. Let M. cap neutrals but stop there. Then people could still work on Reclaimer and M. wouldn't interfere and make people quit CORE or Ingress altogether.

July 2023 Second Sunday
Members of the Second Sunday TG group shared their experiences of Second Sunday, with photographs of places visited, missions completed, social gatherings and problem-solving. The sense of shared community experiences and support within the group meant that even agents doing missions on their own felt part of the global community of agents, all keen to complete missions and increment their Second Sunday badge.
Within the wider group, 58 agents (31 RES and 27 ENL) engaged in friendly competition, uploading stats to the bot created by DhrMekmek. These agents walked a total of 617 km and completed 492 unique missions, earning 16,231,005 AP and recharging 41,733,457 XM. 115 kinetic capsules were completed and an amazing 824 portal scans were uploaded, 402 scans from just three agents! Congratulations to the eight agents who levelled up.
Machina was very much in evidence, with stats showing a significant increase over last month. Agents neutralised 714 portals, destroying 5,852 resonators and 764 links. 615 machina portals were reclaimed.
RES 31 Agents, 9,416,574 AP, 20,502,949 XM Recharged, 324 km, 270 unique missions, 4 level ups.
ENL 27 Agents, 6,814,431 AP, 21,230,508 XM Recharged, 293 km, 222 unique missions, 4 level ups.
Total 58 Agents, 16.2M AP, 41.7M XM Recharged, 617 km, 492 unique missions, 8 level ups.
Agents explored new places for Second Sunday, visiting 1,397 unique portals. The enjoyment of missions was evident in the group: 14 agents completed more than the minimum of 6 missions for the badge increment, with 7 agents completing 18 or more missions.
Thank you to the mission creators who continue to provide new missions for us to undertake. We look forward to next month.
Some Overclock feedback
First of all, I really, really like Overclock and had a blast playing with it yesterday and today. It's satisfying to see where our scans go after all this time. That being said, there are a few things that I'd personally like to see changed.
- The timer for L4+ portals needs to be extended. 2D glyphs are no problem with the timers we have, but with Overclock we need to move around the portal and find the next glyph. If you are not well versed in Glyphs and don't know a lot of them, it is near impossible to complete an Overclock in the timeframe given to us. I haven't tried L8 portals yet, but if it's just 17 seconds like I've heard the time will probably run out before I input the 4th glyph.
- The glyph board has to be brought up with a button every time you want to input the next glyph which wastes the already limited time. There either needs to be an easier or faster way to bring the board up or the timer should stop while you input the glyphs.
- According to the tutorial, the 3D glyph is supposed to glow brighter once you look at it from the right angle. If this is actually implemented then it is extremely hard to see, I could not determine if the glyph glowed once. I don't know how easy it is to implement, but I'd love to see the (outer) cube of the terminal dim when you are further away from the right angle and brighten when you are getting closer. Either that, or a makeover of the glowing glyph idea 🙈
- At the moment, it is unclear how many scans need to be done to activate Overclock and how far along a portal already is. This might be migrated with the public release of the Wayfarer app this summer, but it would be great to have the same display as the Wayfarer app with the accepted Scans visible in the scanner itself, somewhere under the Scout Controller for example.
It could also be that I'm just bad at glyphing and need to git good lol
Re: AgentOps now live
Over a year to develop something that's been a staple in PoGo for years now. This team is a joke and i know they lost a couple devs recently, but jesus, it's like Niantic thinks people will just keep on waiting around for them to actually develop this game back into something people want to play, daily.
So many ways to evolve this game and they landed on machina... Missed opportunity after missed opportunity.
Re: Cancel Core until the Machina situation is handled
The game has never been the same since prime was pushed on everyone. There was a mass exodus when we had to switch to it. Very few stayed around. There are less playing now than ever before. It's not machina that's the problem. If we had the same numbers of players pre prime then machina wouldn't stand a chance. Now it's the most active player. The game needs players.
