Re: Research Bounties activated
Just came to say thanks to Niantic for this. It looks really polished and the animations are great. The thought behind it of giving extra incentive to play daily but without being too forceful looks well implemented.
I want to echo that “Complete a mission” isn’t probably the best for a bounty, considering how the community took the concept of missions and made a focus on banners.
Some bounties feel on the easier side, I completed my first day’s worth without leaving my flat, so some slightly more challenging bounties could be added for more engagement long term.
Overall, well done Niantic. This is a cool feature and feels like it belongs in Ingress.
Re: The single mission bounty is not a very good task.
I actually suggested a simular thing! Like several steps of a stair, where you could choose solomissions or joint missions. And completing one mission would open up next. But for a longer period, and of a little bit harder difficultydegree. But I think it would be good for local communities as well as for agents to develope and learn new things
Re: The single mission bounty is not a very good task.
I say leave it. Bounties aren't meant to motivate people who do stupid giant banners anyway. They're meant to motivate agents who don't play enough.
Re: The single mission bounty is not a very good task.
Add the option to re-roll a bounty once per day please, Niantic. This Mission bounty is not good for the Mission enthusiasts.
Re: Research Bounties activated
@mortuus , well ENLs are busy saving the world IRL so no time to make imaginary fields. When we do have time to field, it's called Field Art :)
Re: Starting over with new account after suspension.
It's like we're having the same conversation in multiple threads. Ahhhh I'm so confused.
Re: The single mission bounty is not a very good task.
Banners are so overrated. When I was on my cruise last year I just wanted to do one and done souvenir missions because we were on a tight schedule with guided tours. It wasn't until I was almost directly on top of the Coliseum in Rome I found a non-banner mission I could do to commemorate my visit there and it wasn't even in Italian.
Re: Research Bounties activated
It counts. I redid a mission for mine that I was planning on redoing Sunday for second Sunday
Re: The single mission bounty is not a very good task.
i love seeing all the ruined missionbanners at profiles. LOOOL
please keep it NIA :-)
Re: Does Niantic care about the Ingress customer experience?
With lightship, it definitely seems like things are very disjointed at this point. I'm less than interested in reviewing wayspots, nominating them or trying to figure out the arithmetic it takes to make sure my effort allows for a new wayspot to make it into the game I play. I've been fooled a couple of times now by distance rules changing randomly, having to do little tricks to get photos to show up into the game or whatever else has changed over the past year or so. So much more effort than what's needed.
The other things, definitely curious what's involved with the beta releases and ultimately who decides what makes it into the game and what doesn't. Bugs are inevitable, but poor design and user experience really shouldn't make it to the public releases.
Lag, it sounds like it's not something they can figure out or at least that's what they're saying. Are they saying they can't nail it down or can they just not get the game to keep up on cheaper servers? If the game is reliable when they boost some setting for an anomaly, seems pretty simple what the long term fix is, make the boost permanent.
I think they care, to some degree as well. Like, there is a balance in any business. Making money and keeping people happy enough to make you money. It's clear to anyone who has played any of the Niantic games that they make blunders often, rarely own up to them and for the most part, do things the way they want to do them. PoGo will bend here and there because of how large the community is, but it seems like Ingress folks just roll with the punches and allow Niantic to continue doing what they want, regardless of how it's affected or will affect the community. I have to imagine if 50% of all CORE users cancelled their subscriptions for a month, Brian and Thia would be in here a little more often trying to make things right.
