Re: agent profile link broken (or useless at best)
Just a technical point here. Posting a link into a browser address bar will not redirect to a new app ever on Android. The link has to be clicked.
e.g. Post it into your Saved Messages in Telegram, then click on the link.
The act of clicking a link can open a new application, but the browser address bar will always open the deep link itself.
Rules about multiple accounts.
What exactly are the rules about using multiple accounts? Lots of people have back up accounts to increase inventory? Is that ok? Is running two accounts on two phones ok, like the Pokémon players all do?
What about if I want to try playing in the opposite faction, but don't want to commit to 16 levels of it through recurse? Can I put my main account on ice for a few weeks and just use a new one, then stop using it and go back? I want to see how different the experience is on the other team.
Re: Agent Stats Format
Okay how did we get from discussing changing tabs to commas or whatever to my (apparently) non-existent programming skills? Nice Ad hominem you got there pal. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominem
But back to the topic: Imagine you are writing a Telegram bot for some event to collect stats from players.
1) Telegram replaces tabs in text for a single space --> it's kinda hard to parse string on the server side.
2) I can't force players to first save the string to file and then send that file via Telegram or whatever when it's much easier to just paste the data to the IM-app. That's just poor UX design. (Maybe if Ingress saved stats to file instead of to clipboard? Then ok.)
3) "Okey, then send screenshot". One would agree with me that OCR is much more CPU-demanding and/or takes much longer than simple string processing.
How would you solve the this?
In almost 10 years I'm interested in programming I've seen TSV like...twice? So yeah, very common format.
It's a big change from .split('\t'); to .split(','); I can see that. /sarcasm
Re: India: Does Ingress Team is looking to add recent wayspot additions to Ingress?
Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like it was a decision of the Wayfarer team.
I understand the Ingress team not wanting to do the imports but I feel that Ingress players would be more motivated to do the “clean up” with adding new photos and reporting invalid items.
Re: What does it take to get a non-existent wayspot removed?
For the wayspot? No. Buring a dead animal on public utilities land? Yeah, that is definitely illegal where I live. Most places actually are kinda funny about "call before you dig" even in your own backyard, out of caution that you don't disrupt utilities services.
Re: What does it take to get a non-existent wayspot removed?
@KonnTower I bet you're real fun at parties
What does it take to get a non-existent wayspot removed?
I have a "wayspot" near me that was initially a homemade cross marking the burial location of a small dog. It was dug on property privately owned by a utilities company, so, the fact that it was placed at all is the commission of a criminal act.
This location has been reported as invalid multiple times by multiple agents, through the Ingress scanner. Support tickets have been opened (and closed by Niantic staff). I have made video and submitted a portal scan of the location. The agent that initially submitted the location has openly admitted in comms that the cross is unlikely to have survived 8 years of weathering in the outdoors. I guess I'm just not sure at this point how much more information Niantic needs to know that this wayspot DOES NOT EXIST any longer. What gives?

Re: The single mission bounty is not a very good task.
A mission requires a minimum of 6 waypoints for newly submitted ones. That's about the same range as the 4 or 8 hack bounties. At least I think that's what they were trying to put as equivalent.
I'm just going to use the mission bounty to work on part of a 6 mission banner. Have to break out of the comfort zone eventually or it's going to eat you in the end.
Re: The single mission bounty is not a very good task.
So just redo your last mission. That's what I did today and nothing got messed up
Re: The single mission bounty is not a very good task.
@VenomousToad It's a big deal not because it's hard, but because a few people want to keep their mission badges in a particular configuration. To me that seems like a personal choice rather than a problem with the task.
